Keith Olbermann Owes Thousands in Back Taxes
Uh-oh. Is this enough to be crowned "Worst Person in the World"? Page Six reports that New York state has issued a tax warrant or judgment against the MSNBC host for $2,269.50 in back taxes owed by his personal corporation, Olbermann Broadcasting Empire Inc. Olbermann and Page Six have long been at odds but this item is also part of a growing feud between the White House/News Corp and GE/NBC News/MSNBC.

No big deal. That is a pretty small mistake on what is probably a bunch of complicated tax forms. I am sure the government hates the guy. Pitiful that they could not come up with something more.McClellan better hope his tax accountant was perfect.

"I just think its funny that they wouldn't find a firm that would do them right!"The incompetence at all levels can be pretty shocking. I deal with many some of these companies occasionally, and I wonder how they have any clients left. But they all have their occasional flubs, so it can be really tricky to find the "best". The entire industry is pretty incestuious...clients and staff just bounce from one company to another. In this case, someone had to have been doing something correctly. He would probably owe tens of thousands of dollars in taxes for the entire year, so $2000 looks like it is an underpayment, or a missed payment...just a portion of the total.

I don't get why people don't pay more attention to their money.2,000 isn't like it's a huge amount - at least not to him but it's still illegal. hope he gets it cleared up soon.

If they tour, like Bill Maher does, they have to pay taxes for every state that they perform in. They usually pay quarterly and file for extensions, instead of paying all at once. $2000? This looks like Keith's people messed up one payment. $2,000 is a very small amount for the total that he probably pays in taxes.

A lot of times, that stuff is handled by accountants and lawyers - I have a couple of tax attorney friends and the mind boogles at the smart, successful people who don't have a clue how much they owe from year to year. Taxes are for little people.
