"I'm rubber and you're glue!" Well Karl Rove didn't exactly say that to Joe Biden, but he did call him a "blowhard" and a "liar." Ouch!
Earlier this week the vice president recalled an encounter he had with President Bush. He said Bush told him "Well, Joe . . . I'm a leader." And Joe responded: "Mr. President, turn around and look behind you. No one is following."
Well Rove says it ain't so Joe. And he's Bush's brain, so he should know. Going on Fox News, Rove tried to set the record straight: "It didn't happen. It's his imagination. It's a made-up, fictional world. He ought to get out of it and get back to reality.” Rove also dropped the "blowhard" and "liar" labels, too.
Are you on Team Joe or Team Karl?

Monsoon
I can imagine:
1A) Bush thinking that he is/was a leader of the US
B) Biden wanting to say something to that effect to Bush (That no one was following Bush)
C) That Rove is correct, in that Biden never had the chance to say that to Bush.
D) Biden's mouth getting him into trouble yet again.
a) if its true, just proves that Biden is a D-bag.
2b) if its not true, just proves that Biden is a D-bag
Biden, you are a three letter word, LIAR.
3spell check!
4me?
5four letter word...
6Isn't the "r" optional?
7GKitty, are you sure that spell check would mark "three" as spelled incorrectly?
I'm with CG. If it's true, Biden is a jackass. If it's a lie, Biden is a jackass. Either way, he's made himself into a jackass.
8I am being tongue in cheek about Biden's three letter word - jobs- from the campaign.
9"And he's Bush's brain, so he should know."
10Nice quality reporting Citizen
I really don't think Biden is telling the truth, but Rove calling him a blowhard is out of line. A liar would have sufficed.
11mmmmmmmm. blowhard. that's hot
12It is, Amy. HAWT.
13
14Every president has his presidency monitored, minute by minute. It would be easy enough for Biden to find the time and place he was alone with the president in the Bush administration presidential log.
15Karl Rove needs to wrap his lower lip around his head and swallow. Hard.
16Oh, that Joe. I doubt he actually said it, but it's pretty funny.
17There were some great responses you would sometimes get from a raconteur in Ireland, as I was growing up. When someone would ask if the story was true. The response would be either "true enough", or "..ahh but it should be."
18BURP! sorry. Good Friday happy hour!!! Grandpa, whats that poem the end..."so we will know them (your enemy) by his limping" (kick em in the shins?)
19You mean the Irish Toast:
May those who love us love us.
20And those that don't love us,
May God turn their hearts.
And if He doesn't turn their hearts,
May he turn their ankles,
So we'll know them by their limping.
Thank you Grandpa!!!
21PS: Happy Good Friday!!
22Here is another nice one Gkitty:
I could have wealth beyond my dreams,
23But where is the joy in that?
And I could travel the seven seas,
But I would always come back.
Everyone could know my name,
And there would be no peace.
I could have undying love,
And heartaches still increase.
No, if I were wealthy beyond my dreams
(And where is the joy in that?)
It wouldn't buy friendship such as yours --
And there IS joy in that!
That's sweet. Thank you.
24A good irisman is never at a loss for words.
'Tis glad I am and glad I'll be
25That you like knowin' the likes of me!
Good lord, i have to learn how to type well enough to hit the right keys hard enough. Irisman indeed. "Tis Irish I be."
26And a Gentleman.
27shhhh, don't ruin my curmudgeon image I so assiduously work on.
28ok.
29
Grandpa! Thanks for sharing those!
30Fascinating that anyone would for one second listen to a word Turdblossom would say. He is after all, the man who claimed McCain fathered a black child, claimed Congress rushed the Bush Administration into the Iraq war, pretended to be outraged about the outing of a CIA operative...
31Steph, who are you referring too. and what are you talking about?
32I'm referring to Turdblossom and his very long, very sad history with the truth.
33So, you're talking about Biden?
34I you examine the lies Steph is listing, you would know it's Rove. But that realization would be so...un-Dave.
35*if
36What's with the childish name calling, Steph?
37Are you sure she isn't referring to Biden the Plagarist, or Biden who said he's always supported clean coal tech (after saying he's Never supported clean coal tech), Biden the ecconomist, who has stated that we spent more in Iraq in three weeks than in the entire war in Afghanistan, or Biden the warrior who said he was told by the Afghan Generals that the surge principle would not work?
38These 2 are...whatever. But it's funny thou, although I just don't get why are they being silly (both Rove and Biden).
39unDave, you forgot the Biden, who worked in the coal mines.
40I never heard any story about McCain fathering a black child. You sure you are not confusing McCain with Jefferson? They were classmates at one time
41The girl is adopted. She has dark skin, she may be from India. The only thing I know is a derogatory remark made by Ms. Cindy to the girl make people think she is black.
42yes, I remember the story on the adoption. I seriously doubt Cindy would make such a comment though.
43Her comment was reported by the press...then they found out she was speaking to her daughter!
44Hey at least Rove didn't ask a guy in a wheelchair to stand up!
Joe Biden is an idiot. If he told me the sky was blue, I'd double check.
45I remember that story--nice insult to the McCains and their daughter Bridget.
46If you don't know who 'Turdblossom' is, or about the smear campaign against McCain, then you don't know as much about the news as one would expect from all you have to say here.
47Steph, I am the first to admit I am not omniscient; if I were would stop asking questions, have no need for reasoned debate. I think I would be bored to tears, if I reached the point there was nothing more to learn. All that would be left for me would the acquisition of incredible power, amass fabulous wealth, and be insufferably pedantic.
So far the only thing I can possibly achieve is the latter.
48Sometimes I come up with one liners I wish I had an opportunity to say too. I don't think Biden expected anyone to think of it as a true story in a strict sense. It's just a little piece of rhetorical flair.
Like when politicans make up some little old lady in the Midwest who wrote them a letter and respond to it in a speech. Do we expect that to be really true? No, not really.
49Team Karl
