John Edwards To Debate Karl Rove
The Buffalo News reports that former Vice Presidential candidate John Edwards will debate Karl Rove on Sept. 26 on the campus of the University of Buffalo as part of the school's Distinguished Speakers Series. When Rove announced he was resigning from the White House, Edwards released a statement that simply read "Goodbye, good riddance."

I think you underestimate them both - they're pretty good at what they do: Edwards obviously is good at convincing juries to go along with him and Rove obviously can sell his ideas. It might be like watching the Devil take on Daniel Webster.

I think it'll be more informative than entertaining - these aren't stupid men and neither has anything to gain from putting on any kind of silly show. To advance his ambitions, Edwards has to try and prove that Rove is nothing more than a Machiavellian hack, while Rove needs to crush Edwards as a feather-weight liberal to be relevent to the next generation of GOP candidates.

Excited to see this. It's like that celebrity wrestling show except with politicians and no claymation. Because, there's really no reason for them to face off. It's just for fun.

If this is a debate, what is the question? Whatever the format, its not at all clear that Edwards' intellect is superior to Rove's. Edwards has been a private citizen these past four years. Rove has been in the White House until his recent voluntary return to private life.

this is rad. edwards is a smart guy. i cant wait to see him tear rove a new one. and... i cant wait to see rove in an environment other than being thrown softball questions by sheppard smith on fox news. yahoo! i hope this is going to be on cspan?
