How Are You Similar to Your Dad?

As women, it's assumed that we have more in common with our moms than our dads, but more often than not, women share plenty of character traits and physical attributes with Dad, too. While my personality is more similar to my mom's, my dad and I actually share many of the same hobbies and interests — not to mention our hair and noses! But what about you? Good or bad, what similarities do you have with your dad?

My Dad is basically a male version of me. Both of us have pale skin and red hair (though his is turning gray) while my mother and sister both have dark hair, skin, and eyes. Also, personality-wise we are very similar. We have the same corny, dry sense of humor. We read the same books and have the same general interests. My Mom and I don't have much in common besides liking clothes :).

Relatives who saw dad grow up claim that we look exactly alike. I have his hair, but not his height. Other than that, I'm pretty much like my mom in all respects, especially with education, goals, dreams, likes and dislikes. Recently though, I've realized that unlike my mom, I need "alone time". My mom spends her "alone time" shopping with me, while I like spending it in a coffee house somewhere, typing in my laptop or reading. Then it struck me as very similar to my father's alone time, none of us around just him, t.v. and newspapers.

I think i'm equal when it comes to the parent i'm most like.. I have my moms body and a 'don't put up with shit' italian attitude.. but I have my dads laid back but not scared to speak my mind side. I see myself in each one of them more and more each day.

my dad and i are so much alike! Hardworking, stubborn, motivated and loving. I am and always have been a daddy's girl. He is my soul mate :)

I have a personality very much like my dad. We're both introverts and naturally quiet people, and we're both kind of dorks sometimes.

I'm not as much like my dad as I'd like to be, he passed when I was young so I suppose I didn't get to know him all that well. I definitely look like him and have his short temper and interests in computers/gadgets but thats really it.

My Dad and I share a few physical attributes. We both have really thick, wavy hair. We both have big teeth that are more rounded than most. We both have green eyes. Personality wise we're both outdoorsy, kinda shy, logical and unnable to stand up for ourselves.

my dad and i both have a more red tone in our skin and tan very easily. I have broad shoulders and stockier legs like him too. I look a lot like him too in the face. My one big thing that i inherited from him though, is his sweatiness. I mean, i sweat like a man! what a pain! hahahaha

I definitely have my Dad's personality traits. I did get some of my Mom's creativity and artisit abilities (only some though, she's very talented). But personality wise I am pretty much my Dad's twin and that's not always a good thing ;-) We do have similar interests, we love to laugh and make people laugh, we love cars and boats, although he doesn't share my love of motorcycles.

I have a lot of my father in me, I'm proud to say. I'm outgoing, personable and make friends very easily. We have the same sense of humor, the same tendency to suddenly get frustrated and blow up, and are both caring and gentle people who are as loyal as the day is long. We're the people you want in your world when the chips are down.

I have a lot in common with my dad rather than my mom. We have the same sense of humor and unfortunately, the same temper, which tends to just cause drama when we do fight (which is rare). I'm similar to my mom when it comes to looks, but I'm like my dad personality-wise.

oh wow!! I am all my dad....I got all my looks from him (I have a pic where I am maybe 2 1/2 and he is carrying me...like a minnie-me!!!) and his punctuality and his sense of humor and his easy going manner...easy to say I am a total daddy's girl

Sense of humor, skin color, temper, religious ideals (essentially), generally our political opinions are similar, body type, nose, eyes, hair... I could go on and on!

I've got his ears (big!), nose, and love of literature, but my mom and I are much more alike as far as emotional traits go...

My dad and I both have insanely good memories as well as a good sense of humor. My mom told me once "Your dad went out of town, but you picked up making the jokes the second he walked out the door!"
