How Many Weddings Did You Go to in 2009?

Weddings can be a blast — so long as they don't fill up every single weekend of your Summer. In my case, I went to four weddings this year, which were all out of town. Instead of getting bummed out about the cost (it can get expensive), I tried to appreciate that I had a reason to travel. Celebrating with my good friends and family wasn't so bad either.

Did you have a lot of weddings to go to this year, or did you have all your weekends to yourself?

0. Most of my cousins already got married and none of my friends are really at that point in their relationships. I was hoping this year would be my own, but it didn't happen. I doubt next year will be either. *sigh* I have a lot of cousins on my Dad's side, I went to many many weddings over the years. I'm glad they're done with though, I'm too poor to afford to travel or buy a gift at this moment in time.

2 and both were on Fridays! They both required that my hubby and I take off of work the day before to travel and the day of the wedding.

I was invited to seven but only went to five. Four of them were in between late September and early November!

Congrats to the ladies who've been to their own this year! I've been to one in August. The day before my daughter was born.

I went to three - one of them was mine :) Two already lined up for next year. I love, love, love weddings. Also, Très, great work on the photo - that's the traditional French wedding "cake," a pièce montée! Very happy to see that on here.

1 1/2! 1 - My own 1/2 - My friend got married in LA and since we didn't have any more vacation time due to our wedding/honeymoon, we couldn't go. But they had a reception in NJ and we were able to go to that! So that counts for a half, right?

No weddings this year. Most of the people I know are either married, or in long term relationships and on the younger side of the spectrum (early 20's, mid-20's) so marriage isn't a common thought. I'm thankful for this, because the drain the the bank account can sometimes be much to handle. Especially if you're a bridesmaid or MOH or something.

went to 2 this year - one was local so it wasnt a big deal and the other was only 2 hours away but I had a lot of fun and I love any excuse to stay in a nice hotel!

i'm a professional wedding guest. five this year, but that was the lowest number in a while. tres, your options aren't very well-written. one to five or five to ten? kind of hard to pick one when you've been to five!
