March Madness: Take It or Leave It?

Guys and sports often go hand in hand, but it's sometimes fun to be a fair-weather fan, especially during March Madness. Who doesn't love a little friendly competition when there's so much possibility for surprises? Some women, though, like to let boys be boys — they'll gladly use that time to do their own thing — but I'm curious to know how many of you are actually interested in this college football mayhem. Will you be watching? Did you fill out a bracket? Or are you completely oblivious like I am?

I love March Madness! I wasn't into it before my boyfriend, but I figured it was something I could learn to like, and maybe bring me and my bf closer because he loves it so much. Year before last, I even picked out the final 4. This year, I don't think I'll be so lucky. I'm actually in a fantasy league with a bunch of friends and my boyfriend, based on our brackets. I'm now wondering how well my Memphis pick is going to do. Hmmm.

You know, I love this website, but posts like these (Guys and sports often go hand in hand) annoy the piss out of me. Why can't GIRLS and sports go hand in hand? That said, I LOVE college bball (GO TERPS!) and I LOVE march madness... so many games, so much excitement, so many possibilities. And gray, I have UNC going all the way (I'm a terp girl but that's not happening, and I gotta show some love for the ACC ;))

I'll have to look at the comments, but I'm hoping someone has pointed out that it is college basketball, not football, going on right now. And yes, I'm totally into it, even though my school didn't get in.

I grew up right between UNC and Duke, I had no choice but to be a college basketball fan :) During march we wouldn't even have classes at my high school... we just watched the games on the TVs in the classrooms. Go Heels!!

Oh, Dear, it's not college football. I'm a fair weather fan of basketball, I'll sometimes watch college basketball for March Madness, or NBA basketball if a local team is in the playoffs... I love football, though. I absolutely love watching it.

my bf likes watching basketball games and he's been into the march madness thing. it's not really my thing but i'll sit and watch it with him if he asks me to. it's kinda fun to root for a team. omg! I'm so excited for baseball! we already got tickets!!

I'm a baseball girl all way the way - to me, nothing says spring means baseball season! Also, being a former cheerleader ... basketball cheerleaders are the second string cheerleaders, so I've never been interested in basketball on that basis alone, lol! I'm not into basketball at all, but my boyfriend is obsessed as are many of our circle of friends. I filled out a bracket based on seed numbers and uniform colors, and the running joke is that because I know nothing about basketball, I'll win. =]

I grew up with March Madness. My dad is almost more excited about March Madness than his college football games. I love college football for a favorite to watch. I remember is was one month we were not bother our dad at all. When it was all over he usually took us out to eat and movies or something like that.

ahhh i have a feeling i'll get into college basketball more now because my boyfriend is a big fan. well, he's the stereotypical sports nut. i've had to deal with football and madden for so long that a change of sport doesn't seem so bad these days! especially since i do like watching basketball. so.. ahem.. excuse me.. GO TARHEELS!!! x_X

I only followed it when my Alma Mater, UW-Madison, made it to the final four. Otherwise, I could really care less about it. Lucky for me, my husband's not into sports either, so I don't have to watch stupid basketball games on TV if I don't want to.

I am definitely a college football girl but I get sucked in when Memphis does well :) Though if the Championship game is anything like it was last year, I won't be watching. I can't handle all that drama again, it almost killed me last year!

I used to hate March Madness because my boyfriend would be sucked into the TV and ESPN.com for weeks because of it! However, I've learned to embrace it more so now it's an activity we can both share. I always enter at least one bracket pool, so that I always have a team to root for in each game. Smileyface, but American doesn't stand a chance tonight against my alma mater, Villanova! Just kiddingggg :P Let's go Nova!

I think it is rather endearing that you refer to March Madness as "college football mayhem", Dear! I knew quite a few women at Georgetown who were passionate basketball fans and knew more about what was going on than many of the guys (me included). It is all really colourful with lots of tension and excitement! Good times for all!

Basketball is my least favorite of the three major sports in the U.S., but I can't help but get swept up in March Madness. I filled out a bracket at work for the first time this year and I am pumped! So far, all three of my picks won their games.

I LOVE march madness! its my favorite time of year for sports, other than when football season starts... I'm a huge sports fan and there is no better competition out there... I hope to win some money this year!!

I don't really care much for sports. But my alma mater (American University) is playing tonight against Villanova so I might try to catch the game when I get out of class if its still on. Go Eagles!!
