We know that they do amigo secreto (like Secret Santa) today in South America, and pin hearts to their sleeves with the names of their lovers in South Africa, but now I want to know what you're doing to celebrate Valentine's Day! Dinner and a movie with your significant other? A girls' night with the single ladies in your life? Absolutely nothing?

No real big plans. I'm going out to a nice dinner with my bf and I plan on ordering dessert as a special treat. I'm thinking a huge piece of cheesecake with 2 forks.
1No elaborate plans here. We decided on a movie date: The Wolfman, because nothing says 'love' like being torn limb from limb.
2I plan on celebrating how awesome I am, because it's my BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!
3I am a single college student with a difficult major, I have a date with the books! But I am definitely having some chocolate...
4Hubby and I are cooking dinner and relaxing with a bottle of wine and homemade desserts..
5I am single and I already had a valentines lunch with my friends yesterday. Today is going to be spent reading and getting a head start on this weeks class work
6Nothing major. Just going out to dinner at one of our favorite restaurants that we save for special occasions.....just have fun and relax.
7I will be eating A LOT...
8I don't. In fact, I really wish it were tomorrow so that I could stop looking at everything hearts and pink and red.
9Just treating it like any other Sunday. Also avoiding all my "boo-hoo I'm alone" friends. I'm single too, but I'm not letting a holiday make me feel bad about that.
10I am spending it alone with Chinese food cookie dough ice cream and a bottle of wine. Could not be more cliché single girl if I tried but I'm loving every minute of it
11I'm spending the day sick. I was expecting to work today but was given the day off. My girlfriend is working all day so it'll just be me and my frozen yogurt and that's just fine by me.
12Made chicken enchiladas and cupcakes (german chocolate and strawberry cream cheese) with my Valentine. Sipped wine by the fire and watched movies. Wonderful
.
13My single friends and I got all valentiney-dressed up (read pink/red from bras to hair ties), made dinner together, listened to good music, got each other funny valentine's day cards and watched "Ever After." I loved it!
14We didn't do anything special. I don't celebrate V Day because I think that if you love someone you should tell them every day, not just one day a year, and treat them when you feel like it, not when your told to.
My partner did surprise me with Fringe tickets though. Sweetie!
15Myself and my husband (first valentines day as a married couple) HAD plans, but they didn't happen. Instead, he spent the entire day pissed off at me due to an argument we had the night before, and never spoke to me once the entire day. So I spent it alone in my bedroom, crying and watching the Olympics. All valentines day plans were cancelled. He still hasn't talked to me, and I'm upset.
16i saw a movie alone...and my boyfriend came over for dinner. nothing special
17missyd, that sounds horrible. Whenever it is that you make up, try to make up for that missed Valentine's Day.
18As for hubby and me, we just relaxed most of the day, ate out for dinner and watched a movie. Nothing major.
why has no one talked about Chinese New Year? Since this blog has always talked about other cultures and is now focusing a lot of posts about madri gras, what happened to Chinese New Year? There are certainly interesting traditions and etc in the Chinese New Year. Just because it was on the same day as Valentine's Day does not mean it should have been completely avoided. I'm a little offended by this lack.
