Hillary Clinton's message that the US wants to reset its relations with Russia got lost in translation today.
Like all good diplomats, Hillary brought along a prop to her meeting with Russia's foreign minister.
What prop, you ask? A bright red symbolic "reset button" to give to Russia's top diplomat. Only problem — "reset" was mistranslated into Russian as "overcharge." How do you say "oops" in Russian?

LK Bennett
duh!
1ugh, there's a bad day at work for somebody.
2Wonder if that translator got fired?
3How embarrassing!!
It's like my cousin who when in negotiations with Japan flashed the "OK" sign with his hand, except to the Japanese, it means @$$hole.
Ooops.

6This would have been embarrassing even if it was translated correctly. Props? Seriously? How cheesy.
7Oh goodness, how hard can it be?
And Michelann, I'm with you. Who came up with that?
8If a foreign diplomat handed me that, I would think the people in their country were a bunch of idiots.
9Then Hilary tells the EU members that the U.S. was the first democracy in the world. Fortunately for her the representative from Greece was not in attendance. They have this crazy notion that the Greeks had a democracy going for them in Athens, over 2,000 years ago. I wonder if Joe Biden and Hillary Clinton are trying out skits for parts in the new Dumb and Dumber movie.
10haha. it's good to be reminded that gaffes are not solely bush territory.
11unfortunate, though.
Yowza, this was an embarrassing moment! I think she is a massively intelligent woman who is highly capable so this doesn't make me doubt her, but this was one heck of a blunder! I think that if the world wasn't already so familiar with her, it might have bigger consequences.
12With the problems this new administration's having in the foreign relations department, this latest gaffe doesn't surprise me.
13My god... I thought those days were over
14no witchy ways, the clinton days aren't over.
I wonder if she might need to travel with a teleprompter.
15Like so many horror flicks, there is always that one more final sequel… and then the one after that…..and then
16She seemed genuinely affable on camera laughing at herself, but I have a feeling some heads rolled after 'Cut!!'
17Hey, thanks for that, rebellion. (Seems kinda funny saying that...
)
18"This would have been embarrassing even if it was translated correctly. Props? Seriously? How cheesy. "
I totally agree. Are you kidding me? I'm embarrassed.
19"izvenitye" means sorry... I don't know "oops" though.
