Have You Ever Dated Someone You Didn't Trust?

We've seen Audrina struggle in her relationship with Justin all season, but last night's episode of The Hills ended with her finally telling him the truth — that she doesn't trust him. Sure, she was topless and talking about future plans, but she said it nonetheless! You've heard me say that trust is one of the essentials when it comes to a healthy, long-lasting relationship time and time again, so I'm left confused as to why women date men they don't trust — it sounds like a tumultuous uphill battle to me.

Have you ever dated someone you didn't trust? If so, why did you stay in an uncertain relationship?

i can't say that i've ever seriously dated someone that i didn't trust...i've gone on a few dates with someone but never with the intention to be in an actual relationship with them. i think that you're just asking for trouble if you put yourself in that position. cause trust is the foundation for things and you alwyas need to have it.

yes, i did. i broke it off after two months of constant arguing.i trusted him in the beginning, but once we started school, we were both so busy, we barely had time for ourselves .. let alone a serious relationship. i felt like i was in a long distance relationship & we lived in the same city! i believe i stayed with him bc i was in denial, thinking that our relationship would work itself out and go back to the way it was. it was very difficult for me to accept that something so good could end so badly.

yep- once was my ex and i did trust him in the beginning but then i didn't but i was still so in love with him. and another time i dated a boy i didn't trust cause i was bored. but same scenerio where i had no reason not to trust him at first. that's always how it happens right

Because we had a child together and I tricked myself into thinking that it was in our child's best interest to have two parents in the home, even though those parents were misreable. I still don't truly trust him or his motives to this day.

Can't handle 'The Hills' at all. They're all so shallow and rather stupid. But I've had my moments too, and yes; I've dated men I didn't trust. Now I know better. It's all about trust. If I could go back in time, I wouldn't waste 5 minutes of my time with a man I don't entirely trust.

Yes...unfortunately, I have. What can I say? I was 20 years old, really didn't like who I was, so how the hell was I going to want to be around someone that actually liked THEMSELVES? Who you surround yourself with is only a reflection of whoever you are, you know? Thankfully, I've done a lotttttt of soul searching for the past 2 years...things have changed :)

I think when it comes to JB, Audrina will do anything for him. She will drop whatever guy she has (and she was dating some cute ones!) the minute he says he wants to be with her.

Well, in the episode Audrina/Lauren also admit that it is truly something about the 'bad boy' type too. I think these two go hand in hand. I have never personally dated someone I didn't trust though. I would make myself a nervous wreck!

More like dated someone I SHOULDN'T have trusted. But upon getting into a relationship, yes, I have always trusted those men at the time.

I'm like most of the ladies here.... I don't get into this show at all! How ever, I've dated someone that I didn't trust but I didn't know that until I found out what episodes were going on behind my back! Now when I date I make sure I research them a little better before getting to know them personally!

I've only ever trusted two guys that I've dated (huh) and that was my first boyfriend and now my current boyfriend. All of the others gave me MASSIVE RED FLAGS as to why I shouldn't trust them EVENTUALLY so meh.I overlooked the red flags but I shouldn't have done.

Not all distrust is cheating...there's- money, temperament, handling of children... I mean as a whole. Not just cheating. That's automatic dismissal. No need to discuss.

Yes I have. There was some crazy chemistry there so I overlooked the fact that he was a scumbag. Never again! Red flags are red flags.

Yes. He started the relationship by dating me before he'd broken up with his long term long distance girlfriend. (I didn't know this.) When I found out, I stopped dating him and told him he could come back if/ when he was completely single. He did, we talked about it, I thought I could trust him, then found out he'd been e-mailing her love letters alongside mine. What a dick. He apologized, I stayed with him because the sex was good - I'll never do that again. He broke my heart anyway in the end partially because it was so clear I'd never trust him. Thank God that's over!

I sure have. I was young and naive, and kept believing his empty promises. After that relationship, I never dated a man I distrusted. I learned it wasn't worth it.

I DONT WATCH THIS WACK SHOW BUT YEAH I DID DATE SOMEONE I DIDN'T TRUST. BUT I TRIED TO TRUST HIM AND IT DROVE ME NUTS BECAUSE I COULDN'T. SO IN THE END, WE HAD TO BREAK UP. HE WASN'T READY TO GIVE ME WHAT I NEEDED, AND WHEN HE WAS, IT WAS TOO LATE. :(

~Yes, My ex boyfriend of 3 yrs. He was a DOG but I was crazy about him. Because he was such a bad boy and he was super cute. But he had this genuine side of him when he should his affection for me. Thats what had me soo hooked on him. It was crazy. It was a crazy relationship and when I finally decided that it was time to go. I never regreted anything. We had a lot of fun. As for Audrina she is never going to get over JB, why? because she is also crazy about him just like I was once. One day she'll wake up and realize how much time she wasted with that man. Sometimes it take longer than other to realize it.

I couldn't care less about these shows... But on the trust issue, yes, of course... And married a man I grew to distrust more and more. Older and wiser I'll never trust anyone completely because you can't unless you are a zombie or on Valium to walk in blind faith on everything. Pure instincts make you second-guess...it doesn't mean you're a 'bad' person, just a 'human' person. It's more important how we react to those instincts.

No. This girls are a horrible example to women. The guys in their lives treat them like objects and they allowed it. They don't have any self respect, and are such a horrible example for women and girls.
