I'm totally addicted to watching the youtube clips of the Grey Gardens doc from the 70s. Big and Little Edie rocked.
1yes they rocked, in their housefull of cat feces and urine. they were "interesting" thats all I have to say.....
2CP! The Edie's rocked because they were resilient in the face of squalor.
Cat feces, rats , urine and pate big whoop. It's the pretending like your still wealthy and still in the "in crowd" when you owe the electric company months or years of past due payments and you owe the grocery store $400 or more that is wonky.
3I have loved Little Edie and the documentary since I was in Jr. High and I have been anxiously awaiting the HBO movie since I heard about it in 2007. At first I thought Drew Barrymore was too young for the role but she has won me over in the clips I've seen. I'll be watching on Saturday.
The conditions they live in made the documentary interesting but the fabulous eccentricities and personalities of those two women made the documentary amazing and keep the story going strong many years later.
4That's a great quote, and true. I'd like to see this doc.
