Girl Power! More Women Than Men Rule in Rwanda

Rwanda is the first country where women outnumber men in parliament. Following horrific genocide in 1994, Rwanda adopted a new constitution. Among other things, it guarantees 30 percent female representation in parliament.

Thus, even before the latest election of 44 women to fill 80 seats, Rwanda held the world's record for most women to men in parliament. But now, that rate has risen from 48 percent to 55 percent. In honor of the election, test how much you know about the landlocked African country.
