It's hard enough to find a present for a new boyfriend, but when the relationship is undefined the question is to buy or not. Forgoing presents seems like the easiest and most natural conclusion, but what if he buys and you don't?

Really - if you're having sex with someone but don't feel comfortable giving them a gift, reconsider the whole thing. So well put Stehley. If I'm sharing my body with someone gifts are appropriate both ways.

Nice intentions but it could easily become awkward. I guess it depends highly on the gift. As long as it's nothing remotely romantic.

I think it's nice. We're talking about friends with benefits after all, not someone on your booty call list with whom you don't interact socially otherwise. I would give them the same gifts as my other friends, except I'd probably stay away from anything that looks romantic, like flowers.
