German Village Up For Sale on eBay

For only $405,000 you can own a village in Saxony. That's the bidding price for Liebon, Germany, which is being ">sold on eBay.

Thrown in with the town of Liebon is a playground, village pond, a small shop, two road signs, and population of eight people. Sounds like a steal!

You'll also own a little piece of history. The township dates back to the year 1321. How much would you pay for it?

Madchen, if I bought the village/hamlet/farm, I'd want to be known as the Unknown Archont of Liebon, with my own shield and stationery.

I'm more interested in the village in England: http://www.cnn.com/2009/WORLD/europe/03/26/uk.village.sale/index.html?iref=newssearch I mean, sure, it costs a lot more, but it comes with a grand Edwardian manor house, cricket pavilion and grounds, blacksmith's forge, rectory, shooting grounds, 22 houses and grade 2 listed cottages! (per CNN)

I think this is actually meant as a bit of a joke. It's basically just a family wanting to sell their farm, which happens to make up its own "village" (I guess, hamlet would be a better term really). What I find interesting though is that the street sign is bilingual, German and Sorbian. I wonder whether the family is Sorbian as well. I am sure there is some serious problems involving that village. Land is not cheap anywhere in Europe.

I'd pay $400,000 tops - I'd really like to own eight Germans, but the town IS old and probably a fixer upper.
