Born 234 years ago on Dec. 16, it seems fit to honor famed author Jane Austen today. Unlike Emily Dickinson, much is known about the prolific writer from Bath. If we don't know her through her novels, then we know her through their movies; loose interpretations of her work like Bridget's Jones's Diary; or the biographically based Becoming Jane. But let's focus on her novels — which do you love the most?

I love all six, but my fav is S&S. The sister relationship is so real...they love each other, but don't understand each other. I think a lot of people can relate to that.
1Honestly? I've never read one. But I'd like to!
2Pride and Prejudice is my favorite. I read it in 10th grade and since then it has been one of my favorite books.
3my book club just read Persuasion... it was really hard to get into. I've felt that with all her books, but if you're committed to it they can be very wonderful
4whichever one Clueless was based on
5How can you make me choose? Pride & Prejudice and Persuasion are my top 2. I like the lightness and brightness of P&P but I like the slightly more reflective tone of Persuasion. Way too tough question
6haha skigurl, that was Emma
7Pride and Prejudice of course! I can read that one over and over again and never get tired of it. My least fav was Manfield Park, I constantly wanted to kick Fanny Price for being such a wet rag. And I forgot it was Jane's birthday today, she shares the same birthday as my little girl!
8Her books have never been my favorite, but of all of them, I like Sense & Sensibility the best.
9I love Persuasion because of the end. I love Wentworth's letter, and the way that he gave it to her. If you haven't read it, definitely read it!
10I will always love P & P because it introduced to me Jane Austen, but think that I like Persuasion and Northanger Abbey more
11I voted for Mansfield Park. It is the last one I read. Of course, P&P is my favorite, but it is not even in the same category, it is so great, so I want to honor a different one. For you Persuasion lovers, there are two movies of it that you can rent. One is better, I think the newer one, but both are nice. If you love Jane Austen, will you please rent Lost in Austen, a 3 hour Brit mini-series. It is delicious.
12i've also never read any!
13Emma and Pride and Prejudice! I love Emma and Elizabeth's characters and Mr. Darcy and Mr. Knightly don't hurt either...
14I feel like such a philistine when I say Jane Austin bores me to death.
15I tried to read Pride and Prejudice, and I didn't even make it to 10th page.
Then again, I read thriller novels.
I liked Emma but never read any of the others.
