I feel sort of icky writing about this, but I suppose the damage is already done. "Kristen" — the high-end prostitute employed by ex-Governor Eliot Spitzer — has been found. At 22 years old, this young woman is not much older than Spitzer's teenage daughters.

Thank you to the New York Times for telling the story that obviously needed to be told. By telling the story, I mean copying and pasting her MySpace page.
I wonder how Spitzer's teenage daughters feel about seeing pictures of the attractive woman their father paid for sex splashed all over the newspaper and internet. This just highlights the countless victims of Eliot Spitzer and the American obsession with sex scandals. With spurious reporting, comes great responsibility. And of course, to see my full reaction, check out my MySpace page.

Liz Claiborne
Um... he sacrificed his/his family's lives for *that*??
1I don't understand what Foxie is saying.
Would it have been acceptable to cheat if the wh*re in question looked like an air-brushed Angelina Jolie?
It's NEVER acceptable to cheat no matter who you are.
Unless of course you and your partner have pre-agreed on a laminated list ala Friends and the person in question in on your list.

3Everyone has a myspace page.
4not true. I proudly do not have a myspace page (or facebook for that matter) New York Times - eat that!
5Well done to the NY Times. Not only did Spitzer humiliate his family but this young woman humiliated hers as well. I'm sure her family was just as shocked and embarrased to find out via the public what their daughter did for a living.
6Well I just wasted 10 minutes of my life reading that article AND some of her myspace page. She hangs with a classy crowd... check out her wall - "hang in there baby"
"it's free publicity right?"
Oh my.
I'm sorry but I'm not worried about her family at all.
7"It doesn't matter what the girl looks like all that matters is that he cheated and he has embarrassed and humiliated his family."
Wait.... wasn't the justification for wanting him out of office was the fact that he didn't just have an affair - he broke the law by hiring a prostitute? I mean, I have been reading that again and again on these threads... he employed a prostitute so he is a bad bad man and deserving of humiliation and the loss of his position. She is said paid prostitute (hence she also broke the law) but now people want to argue that and she is an innocent victim and essentially the same as a child?? (22 is not a child no matter how you twist things.) Was a crime committed or not? Either they are both innocent or both guilty. You cannot condemn him for going to a prostitute, then spin it to make it sound as though he virtually seduced a child.
This article is a waste of space.
8Yeah I just read it too Syako!
9Wow. No words.
One other thing - this quote from the article: "This just highlights the countless victims of Eliot Spitzer and the American obsession with sex scandals."
Couldn't the "this" refer to this Sugar post itself? It should...
10Good Point Ratten.
11i tried to find her myspace but couldnt, does anyone have the direct link?
12I proudly dont have one either syako! High five
Myspace and facebook freak me out for this exact reason. If anything ever happened to you (negative OR positive) that made it into the news, the first thing they do is raid your online profiles.
I would be mortified if my personal pictures, job info, school info and preferences were suddenly made public like that for people to dissect and make humiliating assumptions and comments.
13Hey Cabaker it's on the NYTimes article. On the left.
14Liberty - I'm surprised by your take on how Spitzer's teenage daughters feel about "Kristen's" pictures "splashed" over the media. Are they supposed to feel worse about her pictures after all the rest of the coverage, including pictures of their contrite father and mother splashed all over the media? I'm with RosaDilia and Rattenfreund on this.
15TRUE silly3!
16Just saw that they were at the Mayflower. That used to be one of my favorites. Now I'll never be able to look at it the same way.
17Can you please explain the sentence, "With spurious reporting, comes great responsibility"?
The definition I know of spurious is as follows:
"not genuine, authentic, or true; not from the claimed, pretended, or proper source; counterfeit."
Is there another definition I'm missing? Or are you claiming that the NY Times is writing false stories?
18"Just saw that they were at the Mayflower. That used to be one of my favorites. Now I'll never be able to look at it the same way."
If you wanted to steer clear of hotels that had prostitutes and cheaters you'd never stay anywhere out of the home again.
19Touche!
20Daise, obviously it's always wrong to cheat/hire hookers in general. I was speaking in jest, kthnx.
21Using her myspace page is a pretty clever way to interview someone.
22Also, sugar, why scoff at something that you're doing yourself? If you think it's wrong to put this woman's picture everywhere, for the sake of the Spitzer family, then why are you contributing to it? I see this kind of hypocrisy in the media all the time, and it really confuses me.
23Hey everyone!
Popgoestheworld, I was being a little sarcastic, but I realize sometimes tone doesn't translate to text.
I do not think it's a false story. The MySpace page certainly exist. I was more questioning the NY Times promoting the notion that it was an interview or profile
while they pulled a lot of their quotes from MySpace. It seemed like the interview nature was exaggerated.
As for re-telling the story here, I felt that a critique could not add much more to the damage already done, sadly.
24j2
when the stories break that we're high end call girls nobody will be snooping through our
dirt - unless they find out our super-secret sugar names!
25Why didn't she delete her myspace after the story broke?
26cine- because of her blossoming singing career, duh!
27haha "Free Publicity" Cine!

29Ah. I forgot. She is all class.
30Do The Dictator cine!
31I'll be the Robot!
Where's Tres and I'm missing M3!
32Oops I meant Tresjolie
33I don't see how you could figure it wouldn't make a difference by posting her picture up again. I personally don't think it's wrong for the media to put the spotlight on her, but if you *DO*, then you absolutely shouldn't have followed suit. Especially considering what type of website this is... couldn't his daughters be using it?
34And in any case, the "well, everyone else is doing it" philosophy pretty much sucks in any circumstance, and this isn't any exception.
Once again, I don't personally think it's wrong, I just can't stand to see you upbraid the media and then step in line right behind them all in the same sentence.
You=
35love that banana!
i miss m3 too!
36Ahhh...Shop! 3M is here in spirit :pickle:
37
I meant
38Do people actually feel sorry for this girl? A Denver radio station got a hold of her Emperor's Club page. Like Cine said - she's all class. (Scroll down to see the Emperor's Club profile.)

Hi five Trixie! I would do the actual high five icon if I knew how to
And will high five you too cine just for being here today
syako - I was just going to say the same thing! That was my exact opinion, right after I got over the horror of those pictures.
