We all have favorite smells and smells that we would like to eliminate, but I have a question for you -- do you think everyone smells things in the same way?

I love the smell of fresh onions and garlic! My ex couldn't stand it though.

ugh i truly sometimes hate that my sense of smell is incredibly sensitive. some smells truly, truly offend me. like when people dont dry their clothes or towels properly (or profusely sweat and re-wear clothes) and it has that wet dog, moldy smell? gross. does anyone else think its so rude to be smelly!? im sorry i swear im not prissy but i cant even concentrate in class when that typical obnoxious smelly frat guy crashes next to me. ew! anyway haha yeah i've read that our sweat actually secretes pheromones that attract the opposite sex. also, all scents smell slightly different on everyone, thats why its life altering when you find one that complements your natural smell!

Of course people don't all smell things the same. That's why we have about a billion different kinds of perfume out there- things smell different to each person.

This reminds me of "The Office," where Karen was so repulsed by Phyllis' perfume (from Bob Vance, hah). Obviously Phyllis enjoys the smell, otherwise she wouldn't wear it. All noses are different.

Liking the way a man smells has to do with how different our genes are that encode for the immune system (HMC genes). If those genes of a guy are very different from our own, we will be attracted to that because dissimilar MHC genes allow for stronger immunity in our offspring.

My husband can hardly smell anything. The two things he is able to smell, without fail, are Glow-by JLo (which he likes...on me) & 409 cleaning spray (which he hates, because it makes his sinuses act up severely).

I definitly dont think we all smell things the same...i always wondered do smelly people know they smell? like can they smell themselves, because why on earth would someone not do something about that!

Pheramones..hehe, did I spell that right? Some people are attracted to certain scents which attracts us to certain people. Lovely.

Is it bad I get completely turned on by the smell of a guy after he works out? something with the mix of sweat and deodorant, I think.

Not even remotely. I have an INCREDIBLY strong sense of smell and it causes a lot of health problems overall.

No i dont think so... everyone's other senses differ, so obviously your sense of smell would differ too...i.e. some people can stand loud music, some cantsome people like the taste of chocolate, some dontsome people like the heat, others prefer cool weathersome people wear glasses, some dont...makes sense yeah?
