Do Tell: What's your Least Favorite Way to be Described?

When people ask your friends, family members, co-workers or acquaintances about you, do you know how they describe you? While you would assume, or at least like to think they are conveying you in the best light possible, do tell, what's the one characteristic you loathe to hear people associate with you?

Sensitive...my mom always refers to me as sensitive and it drives me crazy!! Its one thing to be sensitive which I admit I used to be...but to say it out loud is insufferable.

"lives in her own world" WTF? Does it mean I'm airheaded? Daydreamy? Imaginitive...or....what? ..because to me, it doesn't sound like a good thing. Paris Hilton is someone who "lives in her own world" I just don't like the connotation....

wait it's: "you're so skinny!" is that supposed to be a compliment or insult? like i don't know what i look like? you don't see people going up to non skinny people and say "you're SO FAT!" Come on now.

I don't like being described as nice, sweet, cute and shy too. My mom likes to tall people than I'm such a sweet mommy's girl, I got fed up with it so I got myself 2 tattoos, just to annoy them.

"She's a "good kid." Ugh, that gets on my nerves when my parents describe me to new people; I'm not a kid and "good kid" sounds like I'm this un-fun prep. Also, "nice" is an annoying one; all I can think is "is that the only way you can describe me?!"

for as long as i can remember i've always been described as "genius girl" and it's really frustrating, especially when i'm around new people. it makes me feel really singled out and awkward. i know my friends and family mean well when they tell people i'm smart, but for once i'd like to make my own first impressions on others instead of automatically being labled "the smart girl." intelligence is all well and good, but it can make for awkward social situations-it's really hard to be the smart girl in school, because people try to befriend me just to get homework help or to have me edit papers or whatever. ack, now i'm ranting.

Agreed,nice is very annoying. And in a way, I don't like the word "smart" or "mature". It could be taken as a compliment, but it has ALOT of baggage with it. People expect more of you than you really have.

Lots of our friends are a little bit older (30s/40s while I'm 25) and I HATE when they talk about how young I am and how I old I make them feel...I'm not a baby and I'm fairly independent, so it drives me crazy when they bring it up.
