Do Tell: What Was Your High School Curfew?

Ever since I read that happily married parents tend to be stricter parents, I've been polling all my friends about what their high school curfews were. From my very unscientific research, most everyone had a curfew of 11 p.m. or midnight once they got their driver's licenses, though lots of my friends were completely curfew-less by age 18. How about you? What was your curfew growing up? When did you no longer have a curfew? And what curfew would you give your teenager?

i pretty much beat all of you. i am a senior in high school, 17 in 2.5 weeks. my school curfew is 7 now 6:30 because i have 2 Cs currently and NO LATER THAN 9:30 on Friday and Saturday and definitely 7 on Sunday even though i work. WTF I JUST WANT TO FUCKING EXPLODE.

Strictly 9 pm all through high school. If I walked through the door at 9:01 pm I got a lecture. After graduation I decided to rebel and come home whenever I wanted. Luckily I only lived at home for 3 months before moving to go to college in another state, because that was a tense 3 months (but when I'm home now, my mom doesn't say much about what time I come home).

I didn't really have a curfew, but the driving curfew was 11 when I was under 18 so I usually had to be home by then.

redegg, that's the new slogan for Denny's Late Nite Menu! :D "Nothing good happens after midnight, except Denny's." Or something like that. I never had a curfew from middle school to 11th grade. I never went out. But that's because I had friends who weren't allowed out of their house, and had a bedtime of 8 PM...Until 18 years old. Soo...I just sat at home all week and all weekend. THEN, I moved to LA and when my parents divorced, I lived with my dad, and I went a little crazy...Not coming home and not answering my phone. So, my curfew became noon the next day. When I moved in with my aunt to finish my last years of high school, she insisted on a midnight curfew, and yelled for an hour if I was a minute late.

well, i just got out of high school, but i never really had a strict curfew. my mom would tell me to be home by 11, but a lot of the times i'd call her & tell her i'd be a little late. she was cool with that because she knew i wasn't doing anything i wasn't supposed to...which was true, for the most part. & i also think since i was the youngest, she didn't have the patience not to trust me. lol. now, i don't have a curfew. if i wanted kids, i wouldn't be as laid back as she was with me, even though i think she did a damn good job raising me.

in middle school it was 9ish. 9th grade was 10. 10th was 12 11th was 1 or if I let her know I could be later my senior year was a free for all but I was usually home by 2 or 3AM

I never really had a curfew because I wasn't going out every single night, but when I did go out, I wasn't partying or getting drunk (especially not in high school). All I had to do was tell my dad where I was going and who I was with.

I'm friggin 17 years old, my curfew is 9:30, and I'm not allowed out of the house for more than two hours, and not allowed to go out more than once a week. I hate being Indian... I'm running away the minute I turn 18 :)

I didn't have a curfew. I simply had to let my parents know where I was going to be. My older sister had a curfew (not sure what time) because my parents didn't trust her friends. My younger brother had a "car curfew" of 10 pm (he couldn't have the car out later than 10 pm), but he could stay out as late as he liked.

My parents never really set a curfew for me! I was always super responsible. If I thought I would be out late, I would just ask. I'm usually allowed out late if I have a good reason to be.

My parents don't want me out after dark, but usually is 9, 10, or sometimes, but not often 11.

I didn't have one from my parents, and the one mandated by my hometown wasn't enforced very well. My parents trusted me to come home within a reasonable time of the end of whatever event I had attended. I always did. :-D

I hardly ever went out 9th and 10th but in 11th grade once i was driving they wanted me to be home at 11 on weekends, which really sucked. My friend encouraged me rebel a little ( I was such a goody-goody) and 12th grade and i would come at 1:30 or 2, sometimes they noticed sometimes they didn't. I came home at 4 after prom and they freaked wanting to know where i was and what i did. My parents annoy me.

On school nights it depended where I was but usually around 11pm. On weekends it was 1am.

I'm locking my teens down (when i have them). football game ended at 10pm? ok, be home no later than 10:45pm...i'll call the coach on ya! Same for the girls. Birth control in orange juice! no sex, no unwanted grandbabies....Lock Down! get in bed. go to sleep. go to school. get in good college. get the hell out of my house...mama loves ya.

My curfew was 11 on weekends and 10 on school nights. Although my mom always had to know where I was going who was goingto be there and there were certain places she wouldn't let me go regardless of what time it was. If I have kids they will have a curfew too because of safety.

ugh, I had a bedtime of 9:30/10:00pm till I was 15 and my curfew time was non-existent. Meaning, I had to be home when class and/or work ended. I was allowed to date when I was 17 and my dad would drive my high school bf and I to the movies and such...omg, talk about embarrassing. Now when I visit my parents for a night or two they still restrict what time I have to be home and when/where I go. I'm 22!!!...I'm just glad to find out that I'm not alone in this, lol--oh, and because of this I was like drunk off of freedom when I got to college so I'm definitely going to do things differently with my kids when/if I have them.

Weeknights it was 10-11. Weekends I didn't have one at all but was often told the next day not to stay out until 4 am. I still did anyway. :P

Mine was 10pm because that is when my parents went to bed. But once I could drive on my own then I no longer had a curfew but the car did. It varied on what I was doing...any where from midnight-2am.

My curfew was 12am by senior year. My Dad used to say "nothing good ever happens after midnight." LOL.

in high school i was not allowed to date, so that wasn't an issue. my unofficial curfew was 10 or 11 if i went out with friends. of course i didn't have a curfew while i was at college, but after graduating i moved back home and they enforced a curfew of 1am!!!
