The TrèsSugar gals were sitting around talking about our favorite quotes about love (yes, we do stuff like that around here!) and two of us discovered that we have the same favorite quote! What are the chances?

It's from the Cher and Nicolas Cage film Moonstruck when Cage's character tries to talk Cher's character into giving into her feelings for him. (She's hesitant, in part, because she's still with his brother!) The quote:

AAAH! My favorite quote about love is from the novel The Alchemist by Paul Coelho. When he looked into her dark eyes, and saw that her lips were poised between a laugh and silence, he learned the most important part of the language that all the world spoke the language that everyone on earth was capable of understanding in their heart. It was love. Something older than humanity, more ancient than the desert. Something that exerted the same force whenever two pairs of eyes met...It was the pure Language of the World. It required no explanation, just as the universe needs none as it travels through endless time. What the boy felt at that moment was that he was in the presence of the only woman in his life, and that, with no need for words, she recognized the same thing. # 13, I love that! What wonderful and wise advice, I will remember it! My favourite saying is one I read on a Karmasaya website when I was a teenager, but never could find it again. Some were men, some were women, and some were hermaphrodites. However, they were fiesty and arrogant, and Zeus got mad. To punish them, Zeus threw down some lightening bolts and split everyone in half, so that every person had one head, two legs and two arms. The people were then filled with such sadness and loneliness that they began searching for their other half so that they could be whole again. And love is the feeling of wholeness you get when you are finally reunited.
