We women have distinctive tastes. Unlike men, women have varying opinions on what is attractive.
A study we discussed earlier this week asked people to rate pictures based on attractiveness. When heterosexual men looked at photos of women, they generally agreed who was hot and who was not, typically favoring "seductive and thin women." Homosexual men agreed on male attractiveness, too. But the women in the study did not hold consistent opinions. When showed a photo, one woman would find the person attractive, while another would find the same person unattractive.
I've definitely noticed a difference in taste among my female friends. In college, my girlfriends and I would joke that we never had to worry about fighting over guys because we all had different types. Since we all seem to hold different opinions, I'm dying to know yours: what traits do you find attractive?

1i'm obsessed with brows... not so much attracted to them, but i'm def put off by bad ones. i like guys that are tall with shaved heads the best but i still like all sorts... the only thing i can't stand is when guys look too delicate or pretty, i much prefer tough and mean looking

In general, I am not attracted to people I see on the street or on TV or anything. My boyfriend is the same way. It's like, you look at a person and see just another person walking along the street. Maybe we are not normal.
What is most attractive is personality, humor and brain to me. I think the physical attraction part of my brain either turns on or doesn't based on what I know about the person.
I just never feel attracted to people otherwise! And it takes a lot to spark and attraction, it just doesn't happen. I have not felt attracted to another human being but my boyfriend in...I don't know...three and 1/2 years? It's weird, but whatever!
I am picky about personality, and even then, you have to have a certain something...I don't know what it is, for me to consider you attractive.

Good hygiene's important, I don't find dirty looking guys attractive.
And it's always personality first.
And NO tattoos or piercings. Just no.

hahaha now my comment above sounds so shallow! honestly, when i read the title of the post, my first thought was "humour, of course." but the story's about looking at photos of people, not meeting them... i figured we were talking purely physical traits... i'm not that fussy, i swear

I would have to say that i tend to go for the "tall,dark, and handsome" type like a Hispanic or Italian boy (not to be racist or anything). Well any guy like that but it is usually Hispanic or Italian.
. Also tattos and/or piercings help a guy's cause too.
12Personality-wise I find the sweet, romantic, protective, and funny guys the best. Though he has to be smart (I have dated one too many not so bright guys so no more of that please).

Healthy, wholesome appearance (read: not overweight OR underweight, good hygiene, no odd piercings, or funky hairstyles, etc.). Also, someone AT LEAST 5'-8." I'm petite, and generally, prefer men taller than me.
Broad shoulders, tapered hips and waist (read: not thick-waisted) are a plus.

I watched a BBC documentary on the science of attraction. The researchers asked a large group of men and women to list and describe their ideal body type. The two groups were then placed in a speed dating session. From the info gathered, the researchers thought they could predict whom the test subjects would choose as most attractive.
They were completely wrong...despite the laundry list that people offered of what they found attractive, only two things mattered.
For women, it was all about height
For men, it was all about waist to hip ratio
hair color, skin color, thin, muscular, etc...all were secondary to those two traits.
14i dont really have a type..i like guys who are funny and confidant but asthetically i find alot of guys to be hot,i dont like tattoos or piercings(even though i have them!) or any guy under 35 in general.
15oh i do like blue eyes or green but thats not a must.i guess its just the feeling ,i look at someone a chemical reaction in my brain happens and i respond by thinking their hot.
I don't really have a type I like who I like. To main personality is more important that a type. I do have a personality type how ever.
16V-taper build. athletic. usually I like dark features (Hispanic, black, Arab, Indian). nice lips. nice butt and legs (HATE when guys are built in the upper body with no legs) veins in the forearms!

Physically, I tend to like men who are tall (surprise!), broad shouldered, and have a darker complexion (skin, hair, eyes, etc.). Personality-wise, I look for a sharp sense of humor, intelligence and a kind heart.
19i don't go looking for this, but i tend to be attracted to guys with imperfect teeth. not dirty teeth or poor hygiene, but just a little bit crooked teeth. i don't know why i love that so much.
other than that, physically, i tend to like tall guys, dark hair, not into six packs or muscles.
personality wise, i need someone that can make me laugh HARD & someone that i think is intelligent.
20I don't think I have a physical type. Someone's hot if they're hot. I think I tend to find square-jawed stronger-looking men attractive. Like Trent Reznor or Stabler from Law and Order: SVU. However, my boyfriend doesn't have much physical characteristics in common with either of them, and to me, he's the sexiest man on the planet. Piercings are a definite plus, as are fun hair colors and mohawks or REALLY short hair. And I tend to prefer facial hair, and guys with no body hair generally creep me out. As do guys with big muscles, especially pecs.
Over-all though, I go more for personality, because if a guy has all the physical things that I usually find attractive, but is a douche, I don't find him hot. However, a guy who has a good personality but none of the things I find attractive, I will probably think he's hot.
21on the tall side with a nice upper body (shoulders, back, arms--yum). hair, i tend to like either a super-short buzz or midlength curls/waves. i also love strong bones, like a really strong jaw. i think strong eyebrows are nice--as long as he has the eyes and face to compete with them.

another seems to prefer them more burly, rough around the edges, tough guy that needs to be rescued in some way.
i prefer someone slightly abercrombie- a little muscular, looks clean cut -even with a 5 o clock shadow.
we've seen hot come in all forms, but always go back to what we're used to.
I like guys that are tall (I'm 6'1" so it's a must for me), clean/well put together, intelligent, socialable, caring, and must have a great sense of humor - manners are also a must.

Obviously physical traits spark the initial attraction but if there isn't much happening personality wise its not likely to go anywhere.
I prefer men who are tall (I'm 5'11), intelligent, possess striking eyes, great biceps, and a wicked sense of humor.

Good voice. Nice smile. Dark thick hair. Fairly tall is nice 6' or over. Polite. Sporty. Some muscle required. Fun, aggressive and outgoing behavior, but not too far over the edge.
