Do Tell: What Thanksgiving Drama Are You Dreading?

Ah, Thanksgiving, a time to get together with family and friends, eat entirely too much food, and dredge up drama that manages to stay dormant most of the year.

Although I'm not facing any major family stress right now, I can still predict a handful of annoyances that will flare up among the group gathering for my Thanksgiving Day feast. Strong emotions are bound to come up when family gets together, whether it's over something as silly as who gets to make the mashed potatoes or something embarrassing your mom says when she gets tipsy. What drama are you dreading this holiday? Or, if you're drama free this year, I'd love to hear your best stories from years past.

My parents moved my sister and I away from our family when we were quite young, and we still live six hours away from them. My mom's parents come down every year for Thanksgiving, which is lovely. We get to focus on each other. Here's the kicker. My mom's sister has attachment issues, and so she calls my grandmother several times a day. There doesn't have to be anything to talk about, she'll just call to ask what my grandmother's doing and gripe about her husband. I probably sound like a brat, but I always want to grab the phone and say, "Really? You see her every day. I see her once every six months or so, and she's only with me until Saturday." I have a feeling that she's going to call a lot over the next couple days: Her two little boys have the swine flu. (Last night she called us because she sent my uncle to the store to buy three boxes of diapers and he only bought two. She somehow found a way to talk to my grandmother about this for an hour.) Have a lovely Thanksgiving, everyone!

This year my thanksgiving is drama-free.

A little scared for hub and his bro. They love each other but not really like one another and they get super argumentative when they've had enough to drink. Gah.

My brother is bringing his new gf who has celiac's disease. This means she can't eat any gluten which is fine with me since my husband and I are chefs and this is kind of fun for us to add an extra challenge. We have been extra careful and kept them up to date on exactly what we're serving and with what ingredients we're serving. However she is still freaking out that she's not going to be able to eat anything. We've gone to a lot of trouble to make special items for her and made the traditional items gluten free. I understand that she doesn't want to get sick but I'll still be really hurt if she doesn't try it

Usually me and My sister go at it. I mean, I love her but I cannot stand her point of views and she cannot stand mine either. She is older than me by like 10 years we always seem to go at it for things we did in the past that she cant get over.
