I know today, Inauguration day, means something different to all of us, but it'll most likely be a day we'll all remember for the rest of our lives. It's been a long journey to get here, but now that history has been made, share your feelings about this exciting day with all of us below. No matter what emotions are pumping through your veins, you're not alone!

Everything. It means absolutely everything. I put my heart and soul into campaigning for President Obama. The inauguration is nothing short of a dream come true.

fallen and missyd, i agree with you in that there should be a broader focus (not just Canada, but Europe too - I'm Dutch). but we must remember that these topics are often covered on citizensugar. also, Obama becoming president is technically a US issue, but it really affects the whole world.to me, Obama's inauguration means things to me that I cannot even explain in words. I'm really proud of America for electing him. what a turnaround in 50 years in terms of racism! i'm excited about his presidency and have a lot of faith in him, i think he will be a great president. much better than McCain, and Bush is a joke compared to him.

We are connected to the US, yet get 0 acknowledgement or respect when you think about it in general.Ok, so we're not as popualtion-dense, but hey, we're important too and alot of this site's readers ARE CANADIAN

As a whole, inauguration day is exciting to me as an American history and government nerd. It's amazing that having forty-four leaders in two hundred-odd years is not really something we blink twice at when, in most other countries, that would be considered highly unstable. I like the unique process, the pomp and circumstance, and the (brief) return to old traditions dating back to the beginnings of the nation.

Today is the day when a lot of people have to swallow their words. For some, hell froze over today, which would explain the cold. I'm happy and absolutely overjoyed that this day has come. My mother always instilled in me that I could do anything and today, that was cemented in history. Like Jessie said, there's work to be done now. Let's carry over that same energy to the next 4 years of the Obama presidency.

Ah man, I'm Canadian. Inauguration day means "Wait, I thought he already WAS the president? You mean he has to wait a month til he officially becomes president? Well that's silly. Whatever. Go Obama I guess" this site is geared so much towards the USA and their politics... well, what about Canada DearSugar? Open your contests to Canada, start commenting on things that happen in our country too! Jeez.

Read my blog. It means a lot. Obama's inauguration, my first wedding anniversary (today), and a few days of celebrating MLK Jr.'s legacy. If I am fortunate enough to have children they will never know of a time when it wasn't possible for them to be President.
