I think how you order on a date says a lot about your personality, but I think it's fun to share food too! Even if you're not sitting side by side, leaning in close to eat off the same plate can bring a different kind of intimacy to the evening. Since I'm not a germaphobe, I'm all for this kind of dining, but I know people who wouldn't even fathom the thought of sharing food or utensils, especially with a semi-stranger. So how do you feel about informal eating like that? Do tell ladies, how do you feel about sharing dishes while on a date?

JOEY DOESN'T SHARE FOOD!
1I share food with my man all the time!
2We always try stuff off of each others plates
Same here Lovely_1!
3Syako - That was the first thing came to my mine when I read the headline as well... I actually try no to share food as much because of what Joey said hehehe...
4I'll share, but they have to use their own silverware. I'm one of those people who's paranoid about other people's spit all over.
Oh. And I never share drinks for that reason.
5In theory I'm all for it. But in practice, I'm mostly vegan, so I generally don't want any of whatever anyone else has. While I'm willing to let people have a taste of mine, if all I have is what I ordered, I don't want to give half of it away.
6I'll steal a fry from my boyfriend and usually let him taste whatever I ordered, but I'm a vegetarian & he's not, so I can't eat what he ordered unless we go to a veg restaurant.
7i love to have the buffet, my son who is four and will be five next month uses that term all the time joey doesnt share food sometimes he will say zachary doesnt share food, its so cute he loves friends
8I love to share. I have never had a problem with it.
9I only do this with my BFF. I guess I'd do it with a boyfriend that I was really comfortable with, as well.
10I loved getting to a point in my relationship where we were comfortable enough to share food. We both love desserts so it's fun to get a dish to share then dessert to share. I can't eat dessert if I get a dish all for myself.
I grew up splitting with my mom too. Portions are just too big!
11I'll share my food anytime with my husband and kids, but not the utensils, ever.......
12it depends on what we're eating. i def don't share seafood.
13I like sharing
I love the part in Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, when Clementine helps herself to Joel's plate, and he comments on the intimacy of that.
14syako - exactly what I thought when I saw this!
15Although I definitely do share food...I'm a cuisine communist
I wouldn't do it at the beginning of dating, but further in I would have no problem sharing food. He's just going to have to accept that I'll probably eat more of it than him...this drives my fiance CRAZY when we share food!
16Funny, when I was underweight, my BF would ENCOURAGE me to eat his food...saying "if you EVER want to eat my food, I would never deny you! You need it more than I do!"
17Now that I'm a normal weight, he'd stab my hand with his fork LOL
It's sexy!
18We share occasionally. It depends on how hungry we are
19We've gone out to eat with friends and ordered one meal to split. Restaurants serve such large proportions, it's almost a perfect size for two.
We share pretty much all the time. Even on our first date we shared food. We have similar tastes so it works out well. I consider it a bonus, like I get to order two meals to try instead of one!
20my bf and I will share. I'll order one dish, he'll order another and we'll take half of each.
21the girl in the picture is not wearing a bra.
22LMAO @ tweet hptpants.
23Ur so right.
Nippleitis!
Nope. I am, without a doubt, the most selfish and particular person in the world about my food. No sharing.
24My boyfriend always wants what I have even if what he got was something he really likes. I guess it's just wanting what you don't have, but we always share. I like him to try my stuff because then I get to try his.
25Yes, we share. He always offers me a few bites of his food. Then when I'm full (I can never eat a whole portion) he finishes off the rest of mine.
As for eating off a date's fork... well, if you are going to kiss him you're going to swap saliva anyway!
Besides, saliva does a pretty good job killing all kinds of germs.
26I like to take my fiance's food, but it tends not to work out the other way, because he's generally grossed out by my penchant for extremely rare steaks.
27I only share with a guy a really like.
28I have no problem sharing food or utensils with my boyfriend, family and close friends. But if I was on a date I don't think I'd share the utensils. Depends on how well I knew the guy.
And Syako, first thing I though too!
Love Joey...
29My boyfriend and I share, mostly cause we're both light eaters.
30No double dipping. I make it known before the order is even in. Other than that I don't mind sharing.
31I missed sharing when they taught it in kindergarten apparently. Don't touch my food! I almost freaked when I went out to eat with some work associates a couple weeks ago and I found out what Tapas meant once we were ordering! That was ubers rough!
32I have to reallyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy like you to share my food with u ..... nothing comes between me and my food .. ya i'm a fatty at heart.. i said it
33I'll share food with my husband, of course. Or a close friend or family member, but NOT someone that I don't know very well.
34Generally, I don't like to share food with anyone, except children. I can't deny children.
35I share food with everyone! Semi-strangers maybe not, but friends and family and boyfriends, always. My boyfriend and I almost always order one entree and one salad/side when we go out and share it all, it's better that way cause there's less waste!
36We taste each other's meals, but when I order something at a restaurant, it's because it's a dish I want it, not because it's a dish I want half of. So unless we decide to order a few things to share, I'm not too keen on watching the food disappear off my plate.
37I'll share with friends. Would with a boyfriend too if I had one
38Only with people I am close to.
39On our first date my husband kept staring at my ravioli constantly asking, "Are you going to finish that?". I finally just gave him my lunch plate. He was very happy. I didn't go out with him again for months!
40Only with people I know well
41Doesn't bother me that much...I come from a big family.
I share my food. I think it's a very intimate thing I like to do with my friends.
Haha funny syako I just saw that episode the other day and was thinking the same thing.
42No Sharing Allowed!!!
43Sharing is fun ^_^
44ill share with my bf but not a semi-stranger
45Almost always share food! More things to sample and more intimate. But it should be agreed upon by all parties before the order's made.
46wierdness...
