No matter where you turn, you can't escape photos from the Oscars. I love seeing what the stars wore and how they looked, but one person I can't keep my eyes off of is Mickey Rourke, who has clearly had some work done!
As double standards go, plastic surgery is typically thought of as a female desire, but men have definitely jumped on the Botox, face-lift, even liposuction bandwagon too. I don't know about you, but I like it when men grow old gracefully, so tell me, is male plastic surgery a do or a don't in your eyes?

1I think both male AND female PS is a major DON'T.
2I don't agree with it at all, for male and female. But I guess we can't all like the way we look... although we should.. shallow people.
3I think that it should at least look natural if they do anything. And in defense of PS, some people do things for medical reasons, for example, breast reductions to ease severe back pain and spinal curves. What about a woman getting an implant after having a breast removed due to cancer? Not every PS is for the sake of vanity...

5I agree with all of the above comments - plastic surgery for purely vain reasons is ridiculous, male or female.
6Thought about it, to remove, cover up scars, w/e. I won't do it though. People can do w/e they want. It's whether or not you're happy with yourself.
7If it's for medical reasons and not just vanity I am cool with that. Like for example if they got into an accident and they need it to function like they did before the accident. But apart from that, find something else that can boost your self-esteem.
8I have breast reduction surgery scheduled for this summer to take my 34 DDs down to a C. I have constant back pain, and yes, I feel uncomfortable in clothes on my otherwise very slender frame because things that fit the rest of my body are too tight on my breasts. does this make me shallow? I am a full supporter of plastic surgery if it helps you feel comfortable about yourself. that said, while I have struggled with whether or not to get this surgery for many years, only this past year or year and a half have I felt internally calm and collected and at peace where I know that this is the best decision to physically reflect the comfort I have within. it would be futile, I think, to go looking for a solution physically for an emotional problem... so I think I've gone about it in a logical way. if this kind of pro-surgery or pro-physical adjustment/enhancement attitude makes me shallow or superficial, then so be it.
9I think that you can't set a double standard. If you think that it's ok for women to have plastic surgery for cosmetic reasons, then it should be ok for men to do it, too. What goes for one group has to go for all.
Personally, I don't care either way. Whatever makes them happy as long as they don't go overboard/become an addict.

11Stylistashly, I don't even think I'd do it for a medical reason... I probably should have had breast reduction surgery, but i didn't. I don't like to alter anything, I don't even take OTC medication... but that's just me. If other people want or need to do it then they can, but PERSONALLY... I wouldn't.
12It's a little harsh to say that PS for the sake of vanity is ridiculous. People who are injured in an accident often have surgery because the way they look was altered, not for medical conditions per se. Do you think that's shallow? It's very easy to judge, because when we think PS we think 50 year old women trying desperately to look 20. Well, it's not always the case, and some people want to have work done for reasons we all can understand, and we probably would consider surgery too.
13That being said, when it comes to botox and face lifts and other similar procedures, I agree that people are usually better off, male and female.
i suppose it's time that males start facing the same pressures females have for the past 40+ years.

15I'm not a big fan of plastic surgery for anybody, unless they truly need it in the event of severe injury or something similar.
16I said maybe but not because I hold a double standard but because I'm not a big fan of plastic surgery in general unless it's for medical reasons. However I honestly would consider getting a breast reduction because speaking as a girl with a big chest, it's really frustrating when you can't fit into something JUST because of your boobs are too big.
17I'm pretty much turned off by the idea of plastic surgery for any gender. What's wrong with just growing old?
