Details About Prince William and Kate Middleton's Trip to Canada, US

Summer Vacation: William and Kate Finalize Their North American Travel Plans

Yesterday was the unofficial start of Summer in the US, and across the pond Prince William and Kate Middleton began to finalize the itinerary for their North American Summer adventure. The newlywed duke and duchess will stay in Canada and California for a total of 11 days starting on June 30. Here are some of the most exciting details we know so far:

  • Wills and Kate, who only invited a handful of stars to their wedding, won't be hanging out with celebrities in Hollywood. "The couple view this as a working visit, not as an opportunity for them to meet celebrities," says a spokesperson. I wouldn't count out a Beckham rendezvous, perhaps at one of his LA Galaxy games.
  • Kate has never been to the US nor Canada, but North America holds family significance for her since her grandfather was stationed in Canada during World War II.
  • It's about promoting Britain through "the prism of their own interests." I'd expect that to include lots of activities out in nature, considering William and Kate are known to be "outdoorsy."
  • While they're only visiting one part of the US, they'll see every region of Canada. And the Canadian portion of the royal tour has a theme, "Moving Forward Together From Past Accomplishments to Current Service to Future Achievements."
  • They might be flying commercial. There is speculation the royals may take a regularly scheduled flight back to London from LA.

Will you follow their trip come July?
