Dear Poll: While Spooning, Do You Prefer the Inside or Outside?

I'm a hot box so I get kind of annoyed when my boyfriend wants to cuddle... It's cute for a little but after awhile I'm like Okay enough you're making me hot.

Inside. I'm too little to be the big spoon; it just feels awkward, and I never know what to do with my arm.

Same as Jude C. When I try spooning him, I have to try really hard to reach him because he's much bigger than me! My face just ends up against his back if I try to get my pelvis to curve around his butt, so not too comfortable for me.

My boyfriend is 6'6 so I'm on the inside

definitely inside. He's way taller than I am.

We're both almost the same height so it works either way. I just prefer being on the inside because it makes me feel all warm and cuddly.

yeah i think its the mans job to be the outer spoon!! sometimes my boyfriend will be like, ok, flip. so then i do for a bit, but i always feel so awkward.

It's like, What do I do with the arm on the side I'm laying on?

Definitely the little spoon. He's too big for me to spoon! Would be way too awkward, lol.

I actually like both - despite the slightly awkward positioning when I'm the 'big spoon' (where to put my arm, face in back, etc)...I usually can't sleep while I spoon (or am spooned) though, I just need some space!

I like to be the little spoon until I fall asleep. Once I'm asleep, the big spoon needs to go away and let me be. Would that make me a knife?

We trade off. We both like being held so we take turns. It's only fair!

Hes 6 foot, im 5'6, so im the little spoon. Im 100 pounds, hes 180, so again...

Both please! I tend to get a little smothered on the inside, though it feels nice for a few minutes.

I love spooning! Mostly, I'm on the inside because the bf is all like "I'm the guy thus I'm the big spoon". *lol*
However, I love holding him and when he's had a rough day he let me be the big spoon, so... we're taking turns, actually.

It's summer where I live... and it's been almost 30 degrees C overnight, sooooo... spooning is not an attractive option at the moment.

I get overheated easily ... and he's always given off a lot of body heat .... so I always force him to let me do the spooning.

Oh my God, my boyfriend has the highest body temperature ever, and I just...don't. Always have a cold something or other. Whenever he spoons me, for a few minutes it's cute, but after that, I just need him to go away because he makes me so hot, so I'm just getting up a little frustrated and saying "Okay, I wanna hold you now". Most of the time he doesn't even try to hold me anymore since it makes me feel so uncomfortable. He's weird to spoon though, because he is a bit bigger than me. I'm 5'8, he's 6'1, and he's angular, and girls are softer, so I would assume it's harder to hold him, but whatever, it's the only solution!

I am the spoonee. He has me by a whole foot (me-5'2.5", him- 6'2.5") and at least a hundred pounds, so me being the spooner is just akward. Not to mention that he usually starts to sweat a little after me holding him and laying your face on a back covered with sweat is not cool.

i love spooning my man!! does that make me weird? we're about the same height and i simply put the other arm under his pillow. i like being spooned too but for me it's a problem because i move around so much before i'm going to sleep and if i'm stuck in the same position for too long i feel smothered and have to move. spooning him gives me way more control over my movements and it's so comfy!

Inside for me until I get too hot and make him move away from me.

Lol Jude I completely forgot about sporks! I totally hear you guys about having a an extra radiator around. I love the extra heat when my fingers and toes feel like icicles, but in the middle of the night it can be too much.

Inside. He's nearly a foot taller.

Inside - I just like the comfort and protective feeling even though my bf. is 6'4" - three inches taller than I. So it works out.

I love the outside! And yeah i can do it all night long! And sometimes i'll wake up and find out that the person that i'm spooning with has gone to the other side of the bed (people move in their sleep), I'll go and pull them closer to me again!

I like the inside. It makes me feel all safe and good. I don't like being on the outside at all, I feel distant from the other person b/c they are looking away and facing away etc. Actually...I think both people should just face each other, someone should be the backward spoon. LOL LOL.

Take turns...I don't really get hot like everyone else..but it is nice to be able to sniff his hair...and neck while spooing. I am 5'7 and he is 6'2 so sometimes its a bit awkard but as long as the positioning is ok we are good

Both. I like to be the small spoon (especially when I need warming up), but like princess_eab I also tend to feel smothered after some time. Spooning him feels great. He's much taller, but very skinny, so it doesn't feel awkward.

I like being the big spoon. I'm uncomfortable having my stomach touched when I'm sleeping.

I love being on the inside, and my boyfriend loves me on the inside too. But my ex rather me spoon him, which through me off for a while, and it led to me finding out he was cheating on me with a mutual male friend.

Inside. My husband's 6'4 with broad shoulders and I'm 5'5. Kind of hard to reach around him but I don't mind. I love his body.
