Dear Poll: Have You Ever Had a Friend Cross the Line?

Though many of you have had perfectly platonic relationships with friends of the opposite sex, inarguably, there are certain friendships that can leave one person wanting more than the other. While the fear of ruining a friendship can help squash these feelings, sometimes the attraction and connection is so strong that a person can’t help but put themselves out there regardless the consequences. So what I want to know is, have you ever had someone break the just-friends rule with you?

I've had almost every guy I've ever been friends with, confess some type of love-like feelings for me. In most cases its pretty creepy because I have to think back on all the things I've told them as friends. One time I tried a real relationship with one of them. I found out that before we got together, he was faking our friendship just to get close to me. We had been friends for like 4 yrs. The relationship sucked. I realized i didnt know him at all. My ex told me thats a game guys run all the time.

I've had this happen a few times and twice I was watching the movie ghost world when it happened. I don't watch that movie anymore.

I've had it happen and was totally not interested as he was completely creepy and wasn't a real friend just someone I knew through my friends.I'm actually in this situation right now...it's so tough. I confessed and he just wants to remain friends. Which is fine I guess...we talk ALL the time and whenever we hang out were feet from eachother. He's one of my best guy friends and is just awesome...I wish it would go somewhere but I doubt it ever will..and I don't want to remention it as I don't want to push him away.

Yeah...One night, a friend and I were talking on a couch, and he leaned over and kissed my cheek, then said, "What did I just do?" We were both tipsy, so I ignored it, then he kept creeping closer next to me, putting his arm around me. I freaked and got up to leave, and he followed me back to his friend's garage and started throwing a fit...Yelling he wanted to be with me, and I was acting messed up. After that, my other friend and I were alone in the garage, and he kept asking me to make-out with him. Thank God when someone walked in, and he stopped begging!

Years ago a male coworker friend tried to get me to sleep with him. We were carpooling to an event and on the way home he pulled over and tried to give me a massage and kiss me. I knew his wife and baby so I was like HELL NO TAKE ME HOME RIGHT NOW. Work was awkward forever after that. He was such a sleaze.

Yes! It turned out good though. We work together and one night after work we were talking (that was normal for us) it started raining so we hopped in his truck and a few minutes later he was laying over the arm rest kissing me...We have been living together for 8 months now and its still GREAT!

since i started college, i've come to find out that a lot of my guy friends who i thought were just friends have been harboring relationship/sexual feelings for me. one kissed me and it was the absolute worst! it's difficult trying to make sure that both parties don't feel awkward after that. i'm glad glad that one of them actually talked to me about it, though. that's one of the qualities i appreciate about him. he's always willing to talk about things.

Mostly my guy friends have stayed friends. I've made out with a couple of them just because, but they hadn't expected anything to come of it. Actually, one of them just got engaged and I was quite upset to hear that news. I guess I figured we'd end up together eventually.

My bf now was recently a really good friend of mine... turned out we both had feelings for eachother and neither of us new it... he got enough balls to kiss me on my bday and i totally accepted.. couldnt be happier right now! <3 :)

ugh...I recently had a guy friend (just a friend and has been for years) move in for the kiss. It's totally terrible when you don't know whether the push him away quickly or let him finish and then let him know he's out of line. It's not fun to see the embarassment that person goes though...especially when you really like that person as a friend.
