Dear Poll: Does This Time of Year Make You Want to Have a Baby?

The holiday season is approaching and that means spending time with your family, sharing traditions, and remembering the important things in life. It may also mean you're getting asked some tough questions from bold relatives like, "So, when are you going to start a family?" Even if you haven't been overtly asked, I'm curious to know if simply being around the little ones inspires you to start a family of your own. So tell us ladies, does this time of year make you want to have a baby?

to all of you who just had a baby or are preggy, congratulations. i cant wait to have a baby. but my age isnt even near to being married or having a baby. i absolutely love babies. plus, when i get preggy, i`ll get to wear a lot of cute clothes and its gonna be so much fun to have a big belly. i soooo love babies

Actually the opposite... I like to drink at all these parties :D This is when I am glad I don't have one yet.

NO!!!! If anything it makes me not want to have one at all! I hate hearing about other people's kids all the time, as if they are the most amazing thing on the planet..im just over babies right at this moment!

I'm with those that say the Holiday's have the opposite effect. This time of year can be very financially grueling with trying to take vacation, travel and buy things for others. All of those financial stressors only make me feel less equipped to have a child.

I'm not a big baby person in the first place ( prime puke and spit up machines, ick) and I'm in the prime of young adult years (being 19) and every year around the holidays no matter how much I mature, the same thing happens--I cringe at the sight of babies and young children and hate them even more than normal. Some people love the spit up and "Mommy, I want this! I want that! Mommy, can we get that one now?!?!?!?" and the screaming and battling their kids into the cutest little winter outfits, but I just can't handle it! The screaming, temper tantrums, pushing, pulling and dragging are the worst, especially in the store.

god no!like some of the other ladies have said, it's about where you are in your life.For me, I'm single, I'm not working full time, I'm studying... sure, one day I want a baby, but it would be 100% irresponsible of me to decide to have one now, haha!Christmas does not make me think about babies at all!

Kids are SCARY LOL.But y'know what, 2 of my friends just announced that they're pregnant..again. Whoa!! :DMy fiancee joked to me, it's probably due to the bad economy, people don't go out as much so they stay home and make whoopee more often than not LOL.

Hahahaha NO. I like kids, but I am in no position to have one. Even the fuzzies of the holidays and the fact that I know 4 women my age who just had babies can't ward away the reality that it would be massively irresponsible and near financially impossible to have a baby right now. I think if I *did* get pregnant now, everyone I know and their mom would FLIP out in the worst way possible.

Allourregrets: I saw a cute pregnant lady too. I always feel so bad for them waddling around for the Christmas shopping. (No offense to anyone that is pregnant! I long to be myself!) The season does make my baby senses tingle, but they are in high drive ever since I went off my BC pills. >_< (Not yet, not yet, not yet...keep telling myself)I'm only 20 :X

Why, does it do that to other people!?"LMAO, hahahah, agreed. :D1)They cry and scream a lot and take your attention away from catching up with family.2)You have to feed them and miss time feeding yourself.3)You have to leave early to put them to bed.4)You spend more money buying them presents.5)They are super scary and might attack at any moment, especially when there are lots of them in large groups during holidays.6)I think y'all get the idea.... :-P :D

Wild Magelet-or when they start fighting over who got the better present. lol. That was pretty much an every year occurance with me and my sisters.

I realise it does sound a bit weird - but honestly, yes! Not so much a baby, even, but young children. There's something absolutely magic about certain moments at Christmastime when you have young children around. Having said that, I'm single and in the process of PhD study. I should probably remind myself of the less magical moments, like when the children are hyped up on sugar and throwing "I want that!" tantrums in the middle of the supermarket or shopping mall, and enjoy my grown-ups only holiday season!

yes and no. It would be nice to have a little one to spoil and buy tons of crap for, but at the same its nice to be able to go about my business without the added stress of a crying hungry baby! lol. Though the other day I was shopping and I saw the cutest pregnant lady and it really kicked up the urge.
