Dear Poll: Do you Think he Should Have Lost his Job?

Isaiah Washington is scheduled to defend himself, yet again, on tonight's episode of Larry King Live in his first television interview since getting fired from Grey's Anatomy. Just like other celebrities/personalities that have found themselves in hot water, Isaiah profusely apologized for his antics, even did a stint in rehab in order to save face, but his attempts unfortunately did him no good.

So what do you all think about the outcome of this scandal? Do you think his punishment fit the crime he committed? Do you think he deserved to lose his job?

I guess if the Old Testament doesn't count, seeing as that it was before Jesus was born and all, we can also disregard the story of Sodom (Genesis 19) because it's OT as well. Since gospels never have Jesus mentioning homosexuality, I'd rather appreciate people as God made them instead of calling their lifestyles unnatural and sinful.

I am in no way bitter about what happens in life, nor with the life cycle. I am saying that I (and obviously your boyfriend)show love and hope for ALL people. I choose to love and accept, rather than tolerate. In those serious, disturbing situation, I do not question someone's morals, nor sexual orientation. I believe that God loves them, ALL of that person, here on Earth and afterwards.

This is my last comment before I unsubscribe. If you think i hate people, am stupid, dispicable, fine whatever, but I won't be trying to defend myself anymore so please tread lightly. The old testament, the verses you are quoting was God's Law, ,BEFORe Jesus was born. Jesus was born to wash our sins away since God could see we were having problems following his laws. now, if we accept Jesus as our Savior, we will not only allowed to go to Heaven, gut forgiven out trespasses (or sins) on a daily basis, or more so, and all you have to do is say your sorry and try not to repeat your mistakes. I believe in evolution. Suprise! I believe God started it all, created it all, and that evolution is one of his many processes that keeps the world ticking right along. I do believe that scientists can be inspired but like the writers of the Bible...but, why would they be inspired to contradict everything? That just leaves a person confused and upset. Oh, and, i think it was fiestygirl, who is a nurse...so is my boyfriend. I wasn't going to bring it up cause you work in a different "department" than him (i don't know what to call it) but he has seen things that shouldn't have happened to good people, but he tried to give them hope, help them heal, etc. It doesn't matter what religion they are. He is positive and reassuring and not bitter about it. It sucks, but "stuff" happens. I also believe prayer works. sounds silly in this modern age, but, when my stomach is upset, which happens on a thrice weekly basis atleast, and i am on the train, no bathroom in sight, and I pray that God will settle my stomach until I find a bathroom...He does. When i am upset and can't figure something out, I pray for help, and i get it. I am not saying i hear his voice, vocalized in my head (jsut to dispell anyone calling me crazy) but when i look back and examine how everything happened i can see that everything happened just so and that it seems to be more than coincidence. Call me crzy, tell me i hate people, call me ignorant, call me stupid, I don't care. I would say everything I have just said over and over again, to anyone, online or in real life. I am not ashamed and do not think there is anything wrong with the way i feel/believe. Thanks. this has been a fun debate, although I think I am the only person who had fun. Also, I listen to regular music, I dance, prolly the only differences between me and you (you being the collective) are that I believe in God and the Bible, I believe Jesus died for my sins, and I try to live my life in a way that is pleasing to God. I am not perfect. I do wrong things or think wrong thoughts prolly on a daily basis, but i say im sorry, ask forgiveness, i feel better, and i move on, trying to better myself with each passing day. If that makes me a bad person so be it.

If the writers of the Bible were supposedly inspired by God, why can't today's scientists be inspired by God as well? If God gave us the ability to engage in reason and research, why would he expect us to ignore the fruits of reason and research? I was raised with the notion that you should not waste God's gifts. If we have the gifts to explore the world around us, we should use them and not ignore the results of that exploration simply because they do not fit with words written over 2000 years ago. If one uses the Bible to guide their worldview, does that mean that they don't eat shellfish either (Lev 1:10)? Or what about work on Sunday (punishable by death- exodus 35:2)? And if you have daughters, do you plan to sell them into slavery (exodus 21:7)? Or do you just pick and choose which parts of the Bible suit your worldview?

I think it is very sad that you make the "choice" to remain uneducated and closed-minded and ignore ALL valid points made to you. It is like saying you are going to ignore all facts, figures and studies and still insist that the Earth is flat, not round...just bc you stomp your feet and say so.

I have to abide by the laws of the country yes, but i do not hate homosexuals. what did i say that even eluded to that? I have friends that are homosexuals. I just believe that it is a choice. I don't hate anyone, but if i did, it wouldn't be homosexuals, it would be my manager who thinks she is better than everyone else, but i don't even hate her. I just really don't like her and totally hate the project i am on. I don't hate homosexuals just like i don't hate murderes or thieves. I think what they do is wrong, but as for the person...my aunt comitted murder and i still love her. I don't see why it is so hard for someone to believe i still like the person, just not their action. It is possible. and, there is not law that says i have to believe what everyone else does because that is what the majority does.

uh, cravin, I think you are using the wrong word.... here in America you have to be tolerant on account of the laws of this fine country, you may "hate" people that are different than you cause of a document written over 2000 years ago, that is your right, and you have a right to say so but you must tolerate others and their way of life and views.

I am critical care nurse in an intensive care unit. Where you see lots of horrible things that were never meant to happen to good people, young people, innocent people. I do not fear death either, because I know I have lived loving EVERYONE. We are one people, united and the same in our essence.

what do you do that puts you within death's reach on a daily basis? i am curious, and don't want you to think i am arguing now, but you have piqued my curiosity. And, I am glad i don't face death often, but when i do i will do it without fear of what will come. that is good enough for me.

not arguing with you on that, I am not all caught up in the fire and brimstone, but, homosexuality is one issue with which i don't believe, facts and figures and studies aside, is anything more than a choice. And changing with the times as in style, fashion, education requriements, technology is one thing, but changing ones belief and moral upbringing with the times is qquite another. that is what is wrong with "the times". people aren't holding to the foundations on which they were taught. It is thought to be uncool and old fashioned. And sure it can be if you let it get that way. I realte my beliefs to my everyday life. As my life chagnes, i ensure i am changing in a positive way, in sync with my beliefs.

We have very different wordly perspectives. Trust me, if you were in the face of death as often as I am...you would really understand God and life in a completely different manner. None of these organized differences mean a thing. Whether I read the Bible, the Torah, or the Koran...
