When we're busy, tired or overwhelmed, it's easy to become less aware of our surroundings, less connected to ourselves or others, and less tuned in to our pleasures. But our 5 senses act as the conduits for comfort, contact and enjoyment, and we rob ourselves of many rich experiences when our awareness strays.
For the rest of today, try to notice the sensual information around you. Do you need to go in search of quieter sounds, a little breeze, or the smell of wet leaves?
If you had to prioritize, which sense is most important to you? Which sense seems most sensitive?
And, in the spirit of prompting a thorough inventory, if you had to give up one of your senses for a year, which would you sacrifice?

Comme des Garcons
taste! that way i could eat all the healthy stuff that tastes so bad and i would loose a few pounds!
1Taste! Although my moms desserts would be a huge sacrifice!! But after not tasting for a year, can you imagine how sensitive you would be to different flavors? That would be awesome.
2Seeing.....if it is for a year...it'll be interesting to see that life and you can relate it to the world and help those blind also
3I said that I would give up my sense of smell cuz I don't have a very strong sense of smell anyway. But if I couldn't taste stuff, maybe I wouldn't care about food as much!!!
4As much as i love the smell of a clean house, rain or my bf's cologne it is the only one i could sacrifice if i had to
5I'd be willing to give up my sense of smell because so many smells bother me! I have a sensitive nose and if I smell cigarettes or other gross smells I feel seriously nauseous!
6I love food too much to give up smell or taste. Smell is directly tied to tasting food so giving that up is like giving up both in a way.
My second step-mom was hard of hearing and I grew up learning sign language, so being deaf for a year wouldn't be as much of a challenge for me since I'm pretty familiar with deaf culture.
7What a tough one! I think I'd give up smell. But only for the year!
8smell. I could never give up the other ones
9Smell - then I might not be such a picky eater!
