This past Wednesday, January 4th, my boyfriend and I had unprotected sex.  He pulled out every time but I still get nervous about getting pregnant — even when he uses a condom.  Well right now, I'm feeling a pain in my ovaries and assume that it is because I am ovulating.  Is there a chance of still getting pregnant?  I'm 98 percent positive that he did not ejaculate inside me.

You're probably not pregnant, but having unprotected sex always puts you at risk.

Ovulation is painless is probably a young lady. Your body releasing hormones and reacting to them can create all kinds of different sensations, believe me.

Some people feel anything from a twinge of sorts to straight up cramps when ovulating. "Mittleschmerz", it's called. I remember that from reading a book about periods when I was 10.

Ovulation is painless. If you have pain in any of your fun bits, you should get it checked out by a doctor.

You seem young. So all this talk about pre-ejaculate sperm on your vulva finding its way up into your vagina, through the cervix, into the uterus, up through the fallopian tubes and fertilizing your egg is probably necessary in order to scare you into using contraception. Yes, I agree, practice safe sex!!! That being said... here's the thing. You need three things to become pregnant: 1) Uterus 2) Sperm and 3) Egg. Biologically speaking, there is NO WAY for you to become pregnant unless you are ovulating. If you have a very regular cycle and you avoid the days that you are ovulating, you physically CANNOT become pregnant (give or take a few days to account for how long the sperm can live inside you). But here's the rub (no pun intended)--- many women have irregular periods and can't accurately predict when they are ovulating... hence the need for contraception. If you're super paranoid about becoming pregnant even with a condom, I would keep track of your cycle and avoid having sex on your 'fertile' days. Obviously, this should NOT be a substitute for condoms or other forms of contraception. Just another way to ease your mind... Be smart about your body!!! (ps. I'm a nurse--- in case you wanted some credentials :)

Everything said above is true. If you're worried you're pregnant though, go buy some tests to be sure.

Yes. Before a man ejaculates, a clear liquid comes out. Its purpose is to remove anything inside the urethra so his sperm wont have a problem coming out. This pre ejaculation has sperm in it ( sometimes as much as his regular ejaculate) and most guys don't pull out before this liquid is released. Use a condom and look into other forms of birthcontrol. If you have a plannedparenthood in your city go there, you can get birthcontrol at a reduced price.

It is still risky to have unprotected sex on birth control. You're playing Russian roulette by having unprotected sex without birth control and a condom. The ladies are all right. Sperm can live 3 days outside the body and there is pre-ejaculation. Please do some research and look into some contraceptives.

Unless you both have been "fixed", if he puts his penis into your vagina, even just the opening, you can get pregnant. Sperm is one of the most aggressive things on earth and it can survive for three days inside of the vigina swimming it's way towards your egg. All birth control fails sometimes, that's why using multiple choices is best. You want to be protected from std's and from pregnancey. Venus is right, always carry condoms, and use them. spermicide, the pill, the sponge, IUD, whatever (and there are "women's" condoms available to insert into the vagina, a bit more expensive than penile condoms. Do the research. You are the only person you can rely on to protect you. blessed be

Could you be pregnant? Yes! If you are not PLEASE no more risks. Nothing is 100% but condoms are dependable if used properly. Forget the pulling out it is not nice for either of you and fluids are released before ejaculation. Carry condoms with you at all times, use them at all times and no more messing about. Smart women carry condoms!
