In November of 2009, The National Enquirer published an article accusing Tiger Woods of having an affair with Rachel Uchitel, a manager at a New York night club. Days later, Woods crashed his Escalade into a fire hydrant after speeding away from his house, and a local police chief stated that his wife, Elin Nordegren, had smashed the back windows of the vehicle with a golf club. More than a dozen of Woods' alleged mistresses would come forward in the following weeks, leading Woods to apologize for his "transgressions."
