CNN Ratings Falling — What's Your Favorite Cable Network?

So far in March, CNN has trailed Fox News, MSNBC, and CNN Headline News, showing that its no-bias, no-bull angle might not be paying off.

While CNN does get accused of having a more liberal tone than, say Fox News, the network's personalities usually show more restraint than those on MSNBC.

Perhaps cable news viewers are looking for a little more in-your-face coverage. Then again, maybe if the network really built out its news coverage, and relied less on pundits, it could differentiate itself from other cable news stations.

I think CNN's has two problems Larry King has become boring and Nancy Grace is IMO the most annoying TV persona I have ever seen. Secondly their not at War with anyone. FOX and MSNBC have been trading barbs for as long as I can remember there for creating an incentive to be on peoples minds when they go to turn on the TV and look for a cable news show. Even Bill O'Reilly has said on a few occasions he has no problem with CNN it's the NBC/MSNBC operation that has a real problem, so CNN is simple getting lost in the dust. They need to shake loose what doesn't work and what's annoying (Nancy Grace) and put on a new face.

"really hate American news networks, it is such a show and they'll focus on one story about a kidnapped woman for hours. " Note: only certian women/children are featured on the news for hours...there are kids missing everyday but only the cute little "girl next door" is featured!

I actually like CNN and I'm a little surprised by this since in my opnion they seems to have the broadest range of opnions at least when it comes to politics. Both MSNBC and Fox News sit on "extreme" sides of politics and do some "biased" reporting. What's said is BBC does have better news coverage, I rarely have to hear about some random celeb etc. And Headline News wow that station is awful they repeat news like nobodies business.

I read news too. If I watch anything at all its the local news and none of these national channels.

Fox NEWS is fair and balanced. I won't comment about the talk shows. The news, speaks to both sides, and gets both points of view on the air. Hillary Clinton, observed that Fox news was fair and balanced compared to other neywrorks when it came to primary coverage. Juan Williams and Marra Liasson are hardly conservatives, yet you see them regularly commenting on Fox news at 6:00pm EST, with Brett Bair.

Hubby and I watch FOX news when we want to laugh...Normally we watch BBC for our news.

Oh, is that what "everyone" is calling Fox, Manoukia? I'd never heard it before. Every station, no matter who you go to, has some sort of slant, even if it's if ever so slight. Yur beliefs inevitably determine which stations you tend to follow (though that isn't the rule...I'm sure many read opposing viewpoints simply to keep their perspective balanced).

i know they say that cnn is dropping but it's still my go to network. i feel like it's the one that has the best spin on things. i used to like fox news but i feel like they jump the gun on stories sometimes and don't tell the whole picture accurately.

Fox News fair and balanced? Is that why everyone calls them Faux News then? If I want news, I go to e.g. BBC or check out international news sites on the web that don't think the world begins and ends with the US.

Fox has become more of a conservative voice. As a conservative, I enjoy checking out their website, but I don't watch the news because I don't watch t.v. really. We also get all the major newpapers at my place of work, so I get my news from there as well.

I'd love to see less pundits and "personalities" on tv and just get the news. It becomes about entertainment, in my opinion, designed to rally the troops to either the liberal or conservative side.

None- I read most of my news. The only tv news I like is on Comedy Central.

I tend to stick to CNN because it seems to be on everywhere I go, and I'm familiar with the format, although I do watch Keith Olbermann, so I switch occasionally.
