Former president Bush has come back on the radar, but this time north of the border. The retired leader will deliver his first public appearance since leaving office in Calgary, Canada on March 17. Bush has taken life pretty easy since Jan. 20, hanging around the ranch to focus on what he calls his "new domestic agenda."
The upcoming private event, billed as "A conversation with George W. Bush" will highlight his "eight momentous years in the Oval Office." Bush will also discuss “the challenges facing the world in the 21st century."
The group sponsoring the event reportedly paid Bill Clinton $150,000 for a speech in 2006. Do you think Bush's speeches will be as lucrative? Would you pay to hear what he had to say?

Mango
I would never pay to hear any politican speak, they are more than willing to do it for free just to hear the sound of their own voice. Additionally, 99.99% of what they say is crap.
1If it was a stand-up comedy show starring George W. Bush, I would definitely pay. He says the most hilarious things.
2Hell no!! I never wanted to hear this idiot speak when it was free.
3absolutely I would pay to hear him talk!! GW come to florida soon?
4you can't be serious?!
5I wanted to pay for him to shut up...so that most definitely is a no.
6No thank you!
7No thanks!
8I agree with FinnLover, what if he did a Seinfeld style stand up show? It would be hilarious.
9That would have to be a definite NO.I wouldn't waste my money....
10I personally wouldn't see him speak, even for free, but more power to him for cashing in on his appearances.
11all ex presidents cash in on appearances.
12Also, I wonder why he's going to Calgary. Hmmm.
13Yeah, I know, and...more power to him for doing so.
14It would depend on where and when and how much, but yeah, I think I'd like to hear what he has to say.
15
16I wouldn't pay to hear any politician speak.
17lol if I want to hear a politician speak, I'll just head over to CNN or another news station and I most certainly wouldn't pay to hear any more Bushism

Amen! It isn't partisan, just an across the board windbagginess. The hatred for Bush does
boggle my mind though. The anger he seems to invoke in some of you.
19Let me add quickly:
not all of you
it's ok for those it does, I don't begrudge it
It was just an observation.
20no anger from me GS.. I reserve that for Cheney.
21
22lol GS..
23No! He ruined our country and now Obama has to clean up his gigantic mess.
24I still I growl whenever I hear that man's name. I still can't believe he became Secretary of Defense... let alone VP.
How in the hell do you become Sec. of Defense when you avoided the draft like it was a plague and use a flimsy a** excuse of "I had more important things to do", never served a day of your life serving in the military and then have the nerve to tell people it's important to serve your country. In the words of my daddy.. "f*ck that".
25I'd go hear him speak. I'd count the Bushisms.

26And yet we just about elected Al Gore, who did the same thing...
I didn't like Gore either but at least we didn't elect them to become our Secretary of Defense and being essentially in charge of our military. Which is one of the reasons why I'm happy that Obama stuck with Gates. He's a good man that actually deserves is posts and he also he had no vested interest in Haliburton.. unlike Cheney.
27"And yet we just about elected Al Gore, who did the same thing..."
Once again Dave, you are incorrect.
Al Gore enlisted in the military despite the fact that his father opposed the Vietnam war and he himself protested it. Gore served in Vietnam as an army journalist, 1969 – 71.
Cheney had more important things to do and Bush bailed on his service in the Air National Guard.
28wren, my country isnt ruined, where do you live?
29"once again Dave...." but who is counting?
30People who consider accuracy a valuable contribution to public discussion.
31"No! He ruined our country and now Obama has to clean up his gigantic mess."
As long as we're bringing up old topics...the new President is trying to fix "his gigantic mess" (which really didn't start with him in the first place) with a $789B wasteful spending package.
32Oh i just thought it was people who liked being condescending.
33Nope, you're mixing me up with someone else.
34I feel if you're going to be highly critical of someone for not doing something, you should make sure they didn't do it.
I'm sorry, I was under the impression that Gore had no military experience.
Completely off topic, is anyone else not seeing their friends with "-" signs?
35Sure, why not; but only if its not two months worth salary.

37Gore's famous military pic

39"I'm sorry, I was under the impression that Gore had no military experience."
Might have wanted to look that up before making phony comparisons.
"No magazine and looking at the release, I believe his bolt is locked back" - one caption I found for the Gore picture.
Speaking of funny gun stuff, 'member when Cheney shot an old man in the face?
40"Speaking of funny gun stuff, 'member when Cheney shot an old man in the face?"
I miss the late-night show jokes about it.
41Another look into your compassionate heart Steph.
42
I didn't shrug it off as just one of those things.
43I'm sure anything he said worth hearing would end up on the internet anyway.
44You guys are too funny
