Michelle Obama was poised and down-to-earth in her interview on The Daily Show. I love her, I don't see why some people have a problem with her. Actually I do know why, but I think that her statements (the one about being proud of America for the first time) was not said the way that she meant it.

I want to see Michelle and Cindy debate...since they will be the ones in the White House with direct daily contact with the president. Remember how every one joked that Hillary was really the president? I cringe at the thought of Cindy influencing any decisions other than which decorator to hire.

I feel it's the western worlds moral responsibility to provide aid to the poor and if it is in the form of birth control then so be it. AIDS is completely out of control, some African countries have no middle class because of the epidemic. Now is no the time to be withdrawing aid. Giving aid to Africa does not preclude helping the poor in your own country, or indeed giving out lots of free condoms.

Michelle is so graceful and thoughtful. She seems so down to earth to me. I think she is 100% correct in saying that people want to talk about issues right now. People want to know about economy, healthcare, education, social security, not tabloid style rumors.

A lack of global resources due to overpopulation could be America's problem. I would think my government was efficient and wise if it did what if could to prevent such a threat to national security, while perhaps saving the lives of poor women in Africa dying from child birth.

I can't say I'm concerned about that NY Times article. As goofy as this particular Bush policy seems, it isn't the government's place to be giving birth control to foreign nations in the first place.
