I can't help but think the bush administration is giddy thanks to the democrats mainstage show taking up the major headlines, allowing for things like the immigrants being injected with psychotropic drugs(ap news) to slip under the radar. i am writing my major news outlets to ask that this story get the full coverage it deserves because i'm just sick about yet another injustice is perpetuated by this administration.

(lost my post, so hope this one takes...) Karl Rove is right in this instance, and I think Radar is pretty disingenuous in its downplay Byrd's involvement in the Klan. He's one of the highest-ranking Dems in the Senate, and he was a former Klan leader. And while his views have changed, and that ought to be acknowledged, he's just from another time completely. Several years ago, he used the phrase "white n**gers" in an interview -- someone didn't happen to tape him, he used it thinking it'd be a-okay. So for Hillary to call him a "national treasure", as she did in her speech, is just a continuation of the same racially divisive strategy she's been using when she's known it will be effective. The only difference is that it's more coded now. It's such a double standard. If McCain or any Republican called a former Klansman a national treasure, it'd be another round of the "GOP=racists" meme in the media for weeks.

Byrd - and West Virginia -- he's still the "old school" and WV is still not the friendliest place for persons of color. There are other Counties in some States which also have few persons of color because in the not too distant past, they hung 'em. My own County tore down the Court House steeple after the last hanging of a man of color. And just a few years ago, the town raised money to have the old tower rebuilt to include a clock and chimes. Some people look at it and recall the last hanging and don't think it should have been rebuilt. Just remember, Byrd didn't play the current Race Card. Obama did that himself. He's more Caucasian than Arab African and he could have chosen to call himself white. But he decided to be black and he decided to enter the world of Jeremiah Wright, Bill Ayers, Bernadine Dohrn, Sam Graham-Felsen, Rashid Khalidi, Raila Odinga (his cousin), Louis Farrakhan, Saul Alinksy and other socialists and Marxists. So he should have few worries. He's not blackl he's Red. So WaPo says: The U.S. government has injected hundreds of foreigners it has deported with dangerous psychotropic drugs against their will to keep them sedated during the trip back to their home country, according to medical records, internal documents and interviews with people who have been drugged. YOU KNOW, if you come to the USofA ILLEGALLY or overstay your welcome, you're lucky we don't declare a hunting season for illegal aliens, muzzle loaders only, of course. THE SIMPLE SOLUTION -- DO NOT ENTER THE USofA WITHOUT PRIOR LEGAL AUTHORIZATION. I am not a mean person, I just follow the laws of this land and expect others to do so as well. There are legal procedures to enter the USofA and they are set up for a reason. I'm sorry if you got yourself deported because you failed to follow the rules, but that's is your own fault. Don't blame the USofA for your negligence. The DRUGS are to keep deportees calm and non-combative. It's for the safely of the INS and if illegals would leave quietly, would not be used. PLEASE NOT HUCKSTERABEE. First of all he's from Arkansas and he didn't correct the failures of Billy-Jeff Clinton while there. In fact, he made them worse. Second of all, I don't need a second of all, first of all says it all. No matter what anyone says about England's Universal Health Care Coverage, there IS a waiting list for many 'non emergency' procedures. Such as an MRI after a stroke. My cousin died before his turn at the MRI machine in another town, as their hospital was closed by the Universal Care Doctors in order to save money. Universal Health Care, it'll be the Death of You. Just because it's "universal" doesn't mean it's available.
