this a great post! these couples look happy together and committed to each other, maybe "til death do them apart" too. saying it in a ceremony does not say that it is more legit than saying it just to each other. i don't mind wedding ceremonies, but i do mind when people judge the marriages that were not traditionally married. that type of judgement sounds backward.

Why shouldn't it be celebrated? They love each other. That's what counts. "Shacking up" and "living in sin" are offensive to people who are committed to one another. Live and let live.

I am very traditional and I believe that marriage is the ideal institution that any couple who wants to commit to each other ought to choose. However, I believe that a couple should only marry if they are actually going to stay true to their vows of "til death do us part." I think marrying and divorcing willy nilly waters down and extremely important part of human interaction. I actually have a lot more respect for people like these couples who choose their own kind of commitment...
