Boob Jobs Offered to Job Seekers — Hilarious or Horrifying?

Health insurance, an easy commute, flexible hours, or a simple paycheck might attract you to a job these days, but an understaffed health clinic in Prague is using free plastic surgery to lure doctors, nurses, and secretaries.

New employees who sign a three-year contract can choose between free breast implants, liposuction, or tummy tucks. Breast implants typically cost three times the average nurse's monthly salary, so it's a great deal!

Does this sounds like a good perk (pun intended)?

bransugar, that actually makes sense. Most companies and businesses offer employee discounts and rates. I think this is just a regular clinic, though. That would be like my boss offering me a boob job, except that would never happen because they are far too cheap.

It's not really that revolutionary. Most plastic surgeons in the US offer this same perk to their employees. Granted it's not a "signing bonus" for a 3 year contract, but most employees are offered one procedure a year for free, but I don't think it covers the hospitalization just the actual surgery fees. I could be wrong though.

Horrifying. I do not feel women should have to have such incentive for the job. Also, I am against most plastic surgery, so to me, it is disgusting to use a persons already misjudged sense of self/insecurities and offer them the surgery with the 3yr contract. Breast implants are bad enough however do not even get me started on my distaste for lipo and tummy tucks. I'm not someone that is void of body insecurities and dislikes; I could rattle of a list. However I know that surgery is not going to be the answer. I do understand SOME cases for surgery however most of the time, I find it uncalled for. Just my opinion.

I would probably go for it (assuming they would take care of me in case of any infections or whatnot resulting). I don't know which one though, most likely the boob job (if not, maybe ask to hold off on the tummy tuck until after I have kids).

I see where you are coming from. Thank you for explaining. I strongly think beauty exists in every age, race and body type for women. But I don't think that we are all beautiful by default, some souls are even dark and twisted. I think you have to take care of your outside to reflect who you are on the inside. If you don't do that, you can be unconsciously sending a message to the world, "I don't value myself, and neither should you." And with that, I need to go do my daily run. :) Thanks for the nice discussion!

I guess it seems like a lot of your comments are anti-media. Perhaps I am misunderstanding your feelings on the matter. I am speaking in generalities, so this isn't addressed towards you - but It seems more reasonable to me to change yourself than the entire culture.

I never said the word victimized, sis, nor do I feel that way. I said I struggle with images at times. Like I think most of us do. And I'm fit, not fat, not that it matters.The point is natural is best w/breasts. Tummy tucks as needed, I suppose...but I'd try to avoid all plastic surgery.

I would so take a free boob job and rest easy knowing I'll be employed for the next 3 years. I'm sure if there were post surgical complications they would be attended to. You are bound by contract to work there for 3 years and they should have an interest in making sure you're healthy.

They are offering tummy tucks...I'd take it. I am all for taking away with plastic surgery. I still have some baby pudge that needs to go and I am admittedly lazy, so bring it on.

Just to give an example - my stomach is the weak part of my looks. I gained a lot of weight there in my early 20s, and I have to do a lot of ab work to keep it flat. Is it more empowering for me to go to the gym, knock out the work and feel good about myself? Or feel victimized by a culture that shows me pictures of Jessica Alba. Does that make sense?

It totally is. I'm a size 4/6, and if I'd been a size or two smaller, I might have chosen to stay that small - it really looks gorgeous on the 0/2 crowd. This is just my opinion, Kim, so please just take it as that - but I don't understand blaming the media. It's an easy target. If a woman is unhappy about something with her body, choosing to change it seems like a much more empowering choice to me than feeling victimized by the whole culture. That's my perspective, at least.

That's cool, Kim. Again, I'm all for choices.I never really developed and was only an AA cup. It was very difficult for me, psychologically, so I chose to have a BA done. It was a really good decision. I didn't go crazily large, I'm just a B cup now. This was a choice that really improved my happiness.

This is horrifying; being objectifyed on the job. How is that good? Spacekatgal, I am 40 yrs old., have a 12 yr. old child, and am a small B cup. My breast are not quite as full and perky as they were. I do struggle with this because of images out there and media. But, ultimately, even if I had the money, I would not increase my breast size with implants. Not for my self-esteem, or my daughter's.p.s. My sex life with my husband has improved in the 14 years we've been married.
