Beyaz is the new birth control pill that contains prenatal vitamins. That's not a bad thing from a health standpoint, but it is counterintuitive for a pill taken to prevent pregnancy. Hey, who knows what women want? One day they don't want a baby; the next day they do.

In its commercial, Beyaz illustrates the choices women face in the great retail store of life. Young women are tempted by grad school, a trip to Paris, and a stork-like bird. While I doubt a birth control producer would be politically motivated, the ad implies if you do get pregnant you're going to have the baby, which sounds like an anti-choice agenda. I've broken down the commercial into screen-by-screen shots; it certainly shows what Beyaz thinks, but what do you?

I am on here trying to find out how to get my Beyaz T-Shirt right now. I too thought this was gonna be some whiner birth control commercial that actually implies that women have choices. News Flash! If you are angry about Beyaz then you are one of the tethered unfortunates that WILL never see Paris, have more than a trailer home or EVER have a reputable man in your life. See we don't go for all your mistakes and baggage from past lives. Beyaz however DOES imply that there is a choice. use their AWESOME product or be mad about your mistakes in life. Paris is a great place but not for baby carriages or fat has been moms that nobody wants. Be nice to Beyaz! It's not like they are trying to sell coat hangers.

Wow! Katie (katialoves) may need a little therapy. It is not all about you... As a man, the commercial is well done, even if I don't really get it. Sad if some women fear opportunities or fear that they can't do things unless they take this particular pill. Paris will be there, O.K.? So get a life, with or without the pill. I do feel for the man (or person) in your life.

Haha. Funny this is posted because my mom, sister and I were all analyzing this today!! It makes me mad that you can't see what the one girl is looking at, but my mom said that it probably represents the audience and it makes you think "what I would choose?" I totally agree that it's better than the nuvaring commericals!!

Sheesh... Where do you get pro-abortion from, katia?On another note, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday...I'm not sure how you would effectively promote one birth control pill over another... Does it work? Hopefully. Side effects? Like any other drug. Can you cut your hair, redecorate your bedroom, go to paris, sport a bikini with it? You go girl!

I saw this on Sunday and my friend and I actually rewound. I was like did that woman just say no to a stork with a baby in its mouth. I found it it be hilarious, but I watched it the whole way through more than once because I was so astounded! I understand some of the messages they are trying to get across, I hope they were trying to be somewhat funny?

This is a bit odd, but I totally agree with Studio about it being ten times better than those super annoying Nuvaring commercials. I find the Nuvaring commercials so annoying that it actually makes me NEVER want to use Nuvaring. Whoever is on their advertising team needs to be fired! :rant:

One day they don't want a baby; the next day they do." or, they don't want to have an abortion and terminate an innocent life when they are perfectly healthy and capable of becoming a mother/provider. or, more selfishly, they dont want to have an abortion in case they become infertile (yes that would be a fluke accident but it still happens.) is that a new concept for you? obviously the target audience of the ad is women who already have undergrad degrees; which means they are in their twenties and could probably get a decent job or at least some job. its not targeted at an underage rape victim or a pregnant cancer patient, or a down and out lady with no moola. its a young woman who likes going to paris. so why the vicious anti-life stuff? very afraid of anything remotely pro-life, it seems. theres nothing wrong with being surprised with a child or being a single mom. and (by the way i do mean this compassionately to you and the readers) the way you are promoting abortion could really hurt your readers if they go through with it because tressugar glorifies the pro-choice, wait till your ready, do what you want when you want lifestyle. post abortion depression and infertility after waiting for later in life can be VERY hard to deal with. I'm not saying its my situation but those are serious problems that affect women immensely and not for the short term. i'm just one reader but i noticed that sugar sites are pretty neutral. they don't say they hate a celeb or even that she's promiscuous. not like many other gossip sites. subtle/sneaky jabs and flattery , yes. but the most popsugar ever says is that 'its no secret that we love jennifer aniston,' or something. Last i heard america was half pro-life and half pro-choice (maybe not the right number for popsugar's target audience though) why do you want to be polarizing with this controversial, serious, and indeed FATAL topic? high school kids must read this site too. would you be proud if a pregnant young lady had an abortion after being brainwashed by this sweet 'sugar' site that thats what glamourous girls do? sorry for the ginourmous rant. i just wish it was a more neutral advice column, i think that would fit the whole sugar site group better. if memory serves, it was more neutral before when it was called dear sugar

Thank you for your witty play by play. I was horrified by this commercial and wanted desperately to share it's ridiculousness with others. I really liked how the stork is sometimes pushy and what a negative view of parenthood this paints..... If you get pregnant you will never see Paris, own an extremely girlie house, go to grad school, meet the RIGHT man?!?, or most important you will never go on a picnic by a waterfall. Death sentence for sure.

Thank you for this. It was the perfect mid-afternoon pick-me-up. I've never paid attention to these commercials before; some part of my brain immediately warned me to turn away before I got annoyed. So thanks for making all the annoying bits so fun!

I don't think I've ever seen a birth control commercial that wasn't incredibly cheesy or confusing... and the voice over sounds like she's talking about BS.
