Barack Obama's Early Political Pal Tony Rezko Convicted The LA Times reports: A federal jury in Chicago today convicted developer Antoin "Tony" Rezko of corruption charges for trading on his clout as a top adviser and fundraiser to Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich. Rezko's guilty verdict on 16 of 24 corruption counts could have broad repercussions for Blagojevich, who made Rezko a central player in his kitchen cabinet. It could also prove a political liability for US Sen. Barack Obama.

"I think Obama should be responsible not only for everything that his supporters say, but also for their illegal activities also. He has a lot of apologizing to do." I'm not sure McCain will do a whole lot better if you hold him to the same standard, remember his friendships go back to the Keating Five - he says he's learned a lot since then, but why should I believe him?

OMG - the governor of IL is the next person on the list to be taken down not OB. OB is not even part of this corruption it has to do with the governor and his office. I really wish this would be portrayed in the media instead of speculation.

Good point Jillness. Rezko did contribute to Obamas organization, but Obama returned the money monthes ago, when allegations were still just rumors.

People keep trying to make a big deal out of Obama and Rezko...but they have already found that nothing illegal took place between the 2 men. The connection isn't that strong. Rezko offered Obama a job, Obama turned it down. A woman was selling 2 plots of land at one time, Obama bought one, Rezko bought the other and sold Obama a portion for fair market price. That isn't a big deal. For months now the media has tried to turn this non-story into something. I just don't see it.
