Awaiting Results: Obama Rounds Up Wyoming

Barack Obama is now projected to win the largest portion of Wyoming's 18 delegates today. Hillary Clinton will get a proportionate share of the delegates, currently taking about 41 percent to Obama's 58 percent. About 7,000 voters came out to caucus today.

Meanwhile, Republicans in Guam are having an "other." (That's according to the Times. I just report 'em like I see 'em.) Results are not yet available for the race's nine delegates.

I live in Wyoming and am active in local politics. The amount of people who showed up to caucus was amazing. The last caucus I attended there were 60 people tops! This is such an exciting year. This is the first time since Kennedy was running that Wyoming's delegates mattered. We love the attention.

It's so funny, if she had won tonight it would have been a huge deal, with confetti and victory speeches. It makes me annoyed at the media for trying to please her after she have repeatedly accused them of being sexist and biased.

And it is 59% (Obama) to 40% (Clinton) with 96% of the votes counted.

I made a poll last night on the subject of choice for President and VP for the Democratic Party last night: http://teamsugar.com/user/indielove/polls/1103318 It needs you guys' input. ;) I, too, don't want Clinton anywhere near the White House...EVER. And yeah, I agree they're hinting about the joint ticket because they need his popularity to 'win' in the GE IF(and that's a BIG if) they win the nomination. They're trying to ride his coattails. I wonder if this just just a ploy to win the nomination only and they have no real intention of asking him to be VP. Either way, he shouldn't accept.

Agreed. Bill Clinton is now going around saying that a joint ticket will be unstoppable; holding the door open for Obama to be her Vice of course. If she were to get it she would want to at least make it look as if she wants Obama on her ticket, but only because she needs his popularity. But Obama on the other hand doesn't need her if he wins, so the Clinton campaign keeps lightly fishing around the subject so to make voters vote for Senator Clinton, and then in eight years it will be Obama's turn when he has gathered enough Washington "experience". Well, I don't want Clinton on any ticket, so it is not golden to me. And I think Obama is ready, sharp, and will pull us together after decades of pulling the country apart by partisan standards. The time is now, not in eight years. After split personalities, underhanded tactics and poor campaign management I don't want Senator Clinton anywhere near the White House.

I have to say, I live overseas and it's been almost impossible to get a true grasp of what's going on, what with all the spin and rhetoric from ALL camps and a surprising lack of solid unbiased reporting from the US media in general. Really disheartening on many levels, but every so often a scrap of data leaks out and helps considerably! Gold star to Jillness! ;)

If Obama wins Mississippi, he will have won 30 contests to her 14. That isn't a little difference, that is huge. He has already more than doubled her wins. What would make her suggest that he should be her VP? Has she been paying attention?

I know that nothing has "hatched" yet. There is still plenty of time for a massive shake up, and some people in politics are pretty devious. I just think that as of now he clearly has more than a substantial lead on Clinton, and she continues to talk as if that isn't the case.

Yes, they broke the numbers down on MSN. She only won the primary by 3%, and then he won the caucus by a larger margin. When added up, Obama got 3 more delegates from Texas than Hillary. Her wins on Tuesday weren't as big of a deal in reality, especially compared with what she needed. At the most, she got an additional 5-9 delegates...which doesn't make a dent in the 150 that she is short. 140 delegates is a long ways away...especially if you consider that Penn only has around 150, and they usually split delegates. She needs to win by around 70% in all of the remaining contests to win, I believe. It is amazing how many people don't know how far ahead he is. I think his campaign needs to learn how to boast a little bit more!
