Archaeologists Find Remains of Washington's Boyhood Home
After nearly three years of excavation, archaeologists have confirmed the discovery of the site of George Washington's boyhood home near the banks of the Rappahannock River in northeast Virginia. The George Washington Foundation, which announced the findings this week, thinks the Washington family moved to the site in 1738, when George was just six years old. Archaeologists hope the site will shed light on the gray areas in the life of America's most famous founding father.
