App Protects You From Nosy Partner — Love It or Leave It?

If you haven't embraced the trend of sharing passwords with your significant other, I found an iPhone app for you that adds even more privacy protection. iTrust promises to record your partner's attempts to look at your texts or emails while you're away from your precious iPhone. The app name is very misleading though — it should be called iDon'tTrust. Check out this demo and tell me what you make of it.

Well I don't think it would work: he only had to press the button to unlock it, and it seems to me that that's the first thing someone would do if the phone appeared not to be working. Plus, then they'd see the iTrust thing and really be suspicious if they weren't before...

I'm loving it. As hypnotic said, your significant other is not the only one that likes to go through your phone. And I agree with the comments about marketing only to guys.

Speaking strictly from the significant other standpoint, I find it rather pathetic. The only secrets I have from my husband are those that are intended to be a surprise for him. I think there are bigger issues in the relationship for those that think this is a good idea.

How about just calling it an ap to record (any) attempts other than your own to check your texts or emails. Nosy significant others are not the only culprits. You've got co-workers, adolescent relatives etc. who allow curiosity to kill their cat. As a victim of a nosy significant other who caused far more ridiculous issues by their act of snooping than finding anything of infidelity on my part if your relationship for whatever reason gets to that point it's time to take a huge step back.

It's like a trap... if you have that little trust in someone, or something to hide... sounds like a solid relationship.

It is interesting, but wouldn't this just make the person snooping even more suspicious of you if the reason they are looking is that they are suspicious of something? I dunno, not saying it is right to look at other's texts...but just a thought.
