Are they or aren't they? Though Twilight fans desperately want Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart to be a couple, the pair — if they even are a couple — stubbornly refuses to confirm their status. Despite rumors of the stars kissing and both of them showing up at this week's Remember Me premiere, we have no idea if they are just good friends or a secret couple.

People have different reasons for keeping relationships secret. In the case of celebrities, it's often to avoid publicity, but we regular folk might keep our coupledom on the down low if it could cause personal drama, complications at work, or other scandal. Have you ever kept a relationship secret? Please, dish the dirt.

Yes! I met my now husband at our old job, and we didn't want people gossiping about us, we kept it secret for 6 months!
1But they are dating. Robert Pattinson told the Sun that they have been dating for a year. I don't know why there is still speculation if they're admitting it. I hate my life for knowing this... I can not stand either one. They're both horrible actors.
2Well, yes, but we weren't technically a "couple" . But still, we kept that hush-hush. I'm still ashamed to admit it though.
3Nope
4Hey, we all keep secrets
But too many secrets are a bad idea when it comes to many
things.
5Yes, I was 16, my bf was 21. My dad didn't like it much and told me to break up with him but I didn't. We kept it a secret until a year later when I went to college. Almost six years later we are still together.
6S. and I were "just friends" who met through work.
I was definitely attracted to him, and would find excuses to talk to him and flirt with him. I'd go to the bar with him and our other coworkers, and make sure that one of us had enough to drink so that the other would have to drive home. After a while, we started stealing little moments together so that we could kiss goodnight or hold hands.
There was no way a relationship between us would work. I was engaged at the time, he was about 10 years older than me, and he eventually got promoted to a serious manager position. Being seen with me in any outside of work context would mean big trouble for him.
While this whole thing was going on; the meeting, the flirting, the kissing, and finally the "We can't do this anymore" talk, I was writing angsty journal entries about how much I wished he would love me.
Looking back now, I think he did. Our relationship was so secret, we hid it from each other.
I'm gonna go cry into a really strong drink now.
7Twice! Once when I was 16 and working my first job at Blockbuster HAHA! Another co-worker (also 16) and I started dating. It eventually came out and no one was surprised. I'm glad I learned the mistake of dating a co-worker at an early age. It was awkward when we broke up. The second time I kept a relationship secret was when my ex and I got back together. We eventually told everyone we were dating again.
8im in one now,i took a gap year before going to college as anexchange student to india and i met someone, yet due to differnt social standards( and living with a very traditional host family we decided it was best to be hush hush) now in in college and most of our friends know but i havent told my parents yet, mainly im waititng to see if he will come to america
9Yes, I wasn't allowed to have a boyfriend when I was in high school, but I did anyway
My parents and family didn't know for the first 8 months we dated. It finally blew up in my face when my mom started questioning the midnight phone numbers on my cell phone
bill, but 5 years (today marks 5!!) later, we're still together.
10A bit off-topic, but oh Lordy Lord, I am so sick of this tiresome, overexposed couple!
11I met my husband at work and we kept it quiet until after I transferred to another location and he quit, about 6 months.
12My partner and I kept it secret because we wanted to know if any of our friends would figure it out, and if they didn't we'd tell everyone two years later! They all figured it out after about three months though.
13I voted no and then I realized I actually did once!
they were actually pretty cool about it.
14When I was 16 I was an exchange student in Oregon and I hooked up with my host brother a couple of times. Only my lil sister knew.
When I came back to visit them 3 years later we actually were together for the whole 6 weeks but didn't tell my host parents because we thought they'd freak out. They are really religious and would not have wanted us even sleeping under the same roof together. When the eventually found out (Dad saw us holding hands at Walmart
i voted yes...we weren't technically a couple either but we definitely were coupley behind closed doors and no one knew it
this was way back in highschool though...i didn't want anyone to know because he was 2 years younger than me and i thought it would make me seem super uncool
15ARGENTINIAN EXPERIENCE...
16I’m actually in a secret relationship.
We work together so we can’t tell no one that we are a couple since the beginning of 2009, because if they know it one of us will have to get another job.
I’m pretty sure that some if you will say that it has no comparison with KS & RP relationship, but I can tell you that I understand them because, beside they are famous and we are not, when “work” it’s between sometimes it can go wrong or misunderstood so it’s better to let everybody else dis-informed to avoid unnecessary comments.
I am currently dating someone who could be considered my boss. Even thought our company handbook states as long as it doesnt interfere with work there are no problems with fraternization, we have decided to keep it as quiet as possible. The problem is working with girls who love to gossip and make things out of nothing. I will only be working this job until i graduate from undergrad, so even if things do end, awkwardness wont have to last too long.
17I kept my relationship with my ex a secret because my family hated him (for good reason) and I hated him too but I was afraid to leave him. I finally did leave and I'm glad.
I also messed around with this married guy a few times, and we obviously kept it a secret. That wasn't a relationship though, that was cheap drunken hand/blow jobs in a parking lot.
18Currently. It's not so much a secret, but I'm just not telling everyone until the timing is right.
19Yes.
20totally out of context but i hate those pants that Kristen is wearing.
21Can't really say that I have....too much work and I'd probably telling on myself. I'm terribly honest, especially when it comes to emotional stuff.
22I'm currently with my older brother's ex best friend. When they were still friends years ago, pretty much everyone knew there was something between us. When we decided to actually have a relationship about 5 months ago, there was no way I could have told my family. I brought it up kind of jokingly with my mom one night when she said I was going to need to start dating him. Even though we're long distance until August, I think everyone in my family knows now. I'm just so glad my brother doesn't give me hell over it like he did when we were younger or when me and the boy were just friends.
23I started seeing my ex-husband again because it was the best sex before, after and since. I stopped seeing him on the sly when I had sex with my now present happily married-to husband. Let's just say I pissed someone off big time when that happened. I told him to start having sex more often with his 'soulmate.' She's the one that broke us up in the first place.
