AP Poll: Bush Public Approval at New Low Public approval of President Bush has dipped to a new low in the Associated Press-Ipsos poll, driven by dissatisfaction with his handling of the economy. A survey released Thursday showed 28 percent approve of the overall job Bush is doing.

Bush is a victim! The way Congress forced him to declare war on Iraq under false pretenses and that time they tied him to a chair and gagged him while New Orleans was sinking!

Who cares what his approval rating is anymore? He is out this year. Whether you liked him or not, his Presidency is almost over so we need to move on.

It's nearly funny that the voting public thinks that one man rules this Nation. If you want to lay blame, quit looking at President Bush. CONGRESS has done NOTHING this session . . . comparatively. The PORK is "only" half what it has been but is UP from last Congress. Go follow THAT money and see who the biggest Pigs in Congress are. At least in the USofA, we vote to change the people in Congress and to change the President, something people are "dying" to come to the USofA to enjoy. His many mistakes, and the fact that he was surprised that gas costs $4 a gallon might have something to do with that! Now that we know that Bush and his top advisors had meetings specifically to address and encourage tourture, this number might drop even lower.

Actually, no the President is not elected to go with his or her gut on everything - that's why we have Congress for the President to work with. When a President refuses to work with Congress, say by signing laws but writing memos detailing if and when he'll abide by them, he's ignoring the American people.

Caring what the polls say is different than caring what the people think or want. I can create a question on a poll, word it in such a way as to sound negative, and get people to say they want to ban water. To hear the people, you have to go and talk to them specifically. In the end, you are elected by the people to do your best to do what you feel is right for the people.

Why would he? The problem with the people who are running for President today is that they say what the public wants to hear. I totally respect someone who sticks by what he says regardless of what anyone thinks of him.

I can't quite picture Bush saying - "Oh no! My approval rating has dipped again!" I don't believe he makes decisions based on what the public will think about him.

Of course his approval rating is low. All that anyone reports is how Bush has made this mistake or how this crisis in whatever country (other than Iraq or Afganistan) is the fault of the Americans, and by default Bush. Let's keep in mind that the democratic controlled Congress has an approval rating even lower that Bush's. I bet that is somehow Bush's fault as well.
