CNN is projecting that McCain has won the Florida Republican primary and its 57 delegates. The win in this contest throws crucial momentum toward his campaign moving into next week. MSNBC is also now reporting that Rudy Giuliani is set to drop out of the race and endorse McCain.

Hillary Clinton has also won the Democratic primary by a large margin, though no delegates will be awarded because Florida Democrats moved their primary earlier than February 5th.
There will be no resting on victory laurels, as both parties hold debates in California in the next two days in preparation for the big Super Tuesday contests.
Are you surprised by the win? Does this mean he's unstoppable, or do we still have a contest?

Poor Hillary. She keeps winning in States where there are no delegates. lol
Although, I disagree with the decision not to let these states go to the convention. Being from Michigan, I felt a little annoyed that even if I did go vote in the primary, it wouldn't count for anything . I hope that the party decides to let the delegates go.
1I'm not happy McCain won...i lived in AZ, and he never votes for what the PEOPLE of the state, WHO HE'S REPRESENTING wants. Grrrr...
2I had a feeling he'd win.
3this picture is unstoppable.
4Giuliani didnt win lol...what an idiot! Go Mc Cain and Hillary! =)
5I just saw on MSN that Giuliani will endorse McCain tomorrow.
6OMG, if these two are the final choices i'm moving to France....
7Is he playing volleyball in this picture?
8Has anyone read th etotally snarky story of the candidates' wives in GQ. so funny!!
9So if it's McCain and Clinton I'll get to pick between liberal or more liberal... great.
10McCain is 71 years old.
11I think he is just too old.
I don't like him.
UGHHHH...
12Please no. As Michelin says, this would give us a choice between liberal or liberal.
13I heard yesterday on the radio that McCain was doing all kinds of smearing on Romney. Sounds like he is getting nasty already.
The whole primary election is flawed. The first two states are courted heavily and end up deciding who the rest of us get to choose from. My first choice didn't even make it to Florida. The only reason why we even had any say in it was by bumping the primary up. I think there needs to be a single day of primary voting, and it all needs to be consistent, or at the very least rotate between states. Enough "honoring" of New Hampshire for being the first, blah blah.
As for McCain, he's a liberal, who even said a few years back that he was considering switching to democrat. I have yet to hear him say anything that wasn't shrouded in lies. He is not some humble guy, not when he screams at people who don't agree with him or gets in a physical altercation with an even older man.
Everyone keeps saying, "But he did serve his country". Yes, and so did a lot of other people through the years. We don't owe him the presidency because of that. He has to earn that, and everything I've seen of him says that he has not.
And to top it off, he really didn't "WIN" Florida - 64% of us voted against him.
If it comes down to him and Hillary, I just won't be able to vote, because I couldn't stomach either one - they're nearly one and the same. If it comes down to Obama and him, I will probably end up voting for Obama. At least with Obama you know you're getting a liberal, not someone pretending to be conservative.
14Lol Michelin. You are so right. I still think that if McCain wins the primary he will take on Fred Thompson as a VP. He needs that to get the Conservatives out to vote for him. Otherwise like you said, it is voting between two liberals.
15nyaradzom2001, I'm going to go look for that GQ piece right away! Sounds interesting...
16UGH UGH UGH
17I have my fingers crossed that he is going to have Fred as a running mate.
18I was working the polls in South Florida yesterday and at like 10am they were already saying "Hilary is going to win FL"
19I'm sick of McCain bashing Romney (and I'm not even a Romney supporter), and I'm sick of McCain trying to make me feel like an unpatriotic traitor for agreeing with the idea of having a timetable to pull out of Iraq. So I'd like all of the servicemen and women to be able to make it home safely--what's so unpatriotic about that? Does that make me anti-life or something? I can't help that I know people in Iraq right now and am hoping to God they make it home safely. I'm sorry, I think all of the solitary confinement got to him and screwed with his head, because some of the stuff he's said about the war--stuff like "Oh there will always be other wars to fight" and comments about having a lot of PTSD to deal with...I don't know. Came off as uber-creepy to me.
20I'm hoping McCain won't get the nomination but if Hillary gets the Democratic nod, I'm thinking he's still the lesser of the two evils. If Obama pulls it out, well, that might be a different story.
