We all have our own set of rules we live by — mine are to be honest, loving, and respectful to name a few — but we also have a different set of rules we apply to dating. Sure, there's going to be some crossover, but ladies, do tell, what are your cardinal rules of dating?

Honesty in dating is key. I think too many people play games.
1Yeah... just being straight up about everything...from what you want, what you're looking for in a relationship, where you see things going...etc... no B.S.

Be real and honest.
4I think respect, caring, listening and communicating are all key when it comes to dating.
5Honesty and compassion. I CAN NOT date someone who doesn't show compassion for others i.e. are rude to people in public.. speak negatively about everything. I am a pretty laid back girl but those things really bug me
6Be nice, be yourself, and keep your legs together on the first date!
7While honesty is a good thing, I'd like to add being extra careful and protective of myself. Never give out your address as soon as you meet these men. Some of these jerks end up being crazy folks.
8My number one is respect. I value a difference of opinion and feel that it brings more to a relationship when you don't agree on everything; however, if either person doesn't repect an opinion, view, or the courage it took to say something then there is nothing imo.
9Honesty, respect, open-minded, cooperative. Pretty important to be open-minded especially with other deaf people.
10i agree with all of the above comments. my other one, is to enjoy eachothers company. life is too short to take things seriously so soon.

12Honesty and loyalty and all that stuff are a given. besides those my biggest thing is they have to be able to make me laugh. Im a really shy person, so I have to be with someone who likes to talk, otherwise nothing would ever be said. Im also extremely sarcastic, so they have to, at the least, understand my sarcasm, if not be just as sarcastic back. Someone who will look at me the same way wether im in a sexy little dress, or in my sweats. Most of all just someone who I can be myself around. And ash had a very good point, you MUST NOT get wasted on the first date. I went on a date with a guy once, he was really nice and funny, and we got along fine, but he got sooo drunk at the bar that when we got back to my house he puked in my tiolet and I had to let him sleep on my couch....needless to say there wasnt a second date.

No matter what level or length of relationship, there's nothing worse than being left in the dark or toyed with.

15honesty- i hate liars. and i want someone who listens and is my best friend. also-- if you hit me or ever lay a hand on me (in not a sexual way) its over. and respect!
