Do bar code tattoos make a statement about our consumer-driven culture or our worth in this dehumanizing world? All I know is that this trend is fug. When they first hit the scene, they were generally hidden at the nape of people's necks, but these days, any body part is up for sale. Now that everyone's got their own UPC code, are these "unique" tatts really worth the investment anymore?

I'm sorry but I think that this is fUHuuuuuug too!
1I think that is beyond stupid
2my ex boyfriend had one put on his wrist like in one of the pictures up there. he did it just before leavin for iraq. he said if he was gunned down at least they could identify him.
3well i forgot to add what he had... it was a bar code with his ssn on it.
4Wow... These are really gross. What happened to meaningful and creative tats?
5I miss that show, Dark Angel, in which the genetically engineered soldiers had those tattoos at the nape of their necks. Suddenly everyone wanted one. I can see if you are a fan of that show, or of similar shows/ideas, but if you are, then it should be small, in some out of the way place.
Otherwise, it's just stupid.
6OMG, those are so fugly.
7I'm with kaenai. I miss Dark Angel too. I think its amazing that the barcode tattoo has continued to gain popularity so many years after the show was cancelled.
8Lame!
9I wonder if they have their SSNs on them like strawberry's bf or if they are for a product they really like or if they're all random.
10Haha one fo my gf's has a barcode on her
