In Michigan's open Republican primary last night, seven percent of the vote came from Democrats. Long popular with Independent voters, John McCain also bested eventual winner Mitt Romney, by scoring 41 percent of the Democratic votes. Romney's win in a state that McCain did well in in 2000 led commentators on CNN to muse that Romney ran for President of Michigan, offering hope about resurrecting the struggling auto industry. McCain, on the other hand, ran for President—talking frankly about global warming and fuel-efficiency—themes that voters in Michigan's struggling economy may have heard as a dead end.
And now the best exchange of the evening, courtesy of the Hotline:
CNN's Wolf Blitzer: "Anybody who says they know who the Republican nominee is going to be, I gotta tell you, they're lying."
CNN's Larry King: "Let's ask somebody who might know -- Senator Lindsey Graham."
That's not what we call "active listening," Larry.

Your Romney link isn't working, and it was Romney that won. http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2008/01/16/oops-michigan-gop-praise... it was a press release mix up.
1Romney DOES need to be President of Michigan. Someone needs to do something about their situation.
Everyone reading this can help out by making their next car purchase a Ford, GM, or Chrysler! And don't give me that excuse about American cars having poor quality! Maybe in the 80's they had some quality issues, but significant improvements have been made. Our family drives nothing but Fords, and we have not had one problem since with any of our cars since probably 1983.
God Bless Michigan!

4well you can't really blame them - i mean the fact taht obama wasn't on the ballot becuase people were upset that MI moved their primary up.. they didn't see a republican on the ballot that they cared for.
5Well, I am a left-leaning independent and I would vote for McCain. He is by far the best and most qualified Republican candidate. However, a lot of the Democrats' vote in Michigan was due to the fact that their primary was null. I'd also cast a vote for McCain over Hillary in such a situation.
6From what I've read about him, I don't think John McCain should be classified as a Republican.
7I'll be glad with people with some brains start commenting in Savvy sugar!
8As a christian ,my 1st choice pro would have been Huckabee, but I think he is wierd looking.

9Mccain is too old.
