I'm working on times number 7 and 8 this summer

Not too many just yet...

One of my girlfriends is always a bridesmaid and never a bride. One year, she did 4 weddings!

Unfortunately, over 10 times. There were a couple of years when I was a bridesmaid twice (for different weddings, of course). I'm burned-out on being a bridesmaid. I no longer accept that honor. I've officially retired from being a bridesmaid.

I was once!! Anyway in Spain the concept of "bridesmaid" is quite different. In my country "bridesmaid" are usually children, in fact I was it at 7 years old!

Once in the past about 5 years ago. I was a flowergirl at least 3 times as a kid.

I play piano, so I'm the friend that always gets asked to play for the ceremony because they want me involved but need to cut down on the number of attendants. I was a bridesmaid once, and it was a little ridiculous because I'm a little anti-over the top wedding, while this wedding was definitely over the top! I only plan on doing it one more time -- whenever my little sister gets married, she's already said she wants me to be matron of honor.

Once as a bridesmaid, and once as a maid of honor....then my wedding where of course, I'm the bride.

Aww... I wanna be a bridesmaid. =(

I was the first in my group of friends to get married and no one else is even close to that point. I hope to be one someday. I'd be a good MOH since I've already done it and I am really creative when it comes to things like this.

never a bridesmaid, but plenty of times I've been a *dama* at quinceaneras!!! which is WAY WORSE than a bridesmaid....trust me...unless you've had one, u have NO idea! bleh!

Ohh, so really I was never a bridesmaid (there are not this kind of things in Spain) but a flowergirl.

My 8th time will be in July.

Being a bridesmaid is fun if the bride isn't "bridezilla".

Once so far, for my brother's wedding.

I was a bridesmaid once, and a groomsperson once (the groom had a mixed lot of male and female attendants, we collectively referred to ourselves as the "groomsvolk.")

I was a bride before both of these weddings, and it was so much more fun "being on the sidelines" than being at the center of the action. I loved helping out my friends and celebrating their weddings, whereas my own wedding went by so quickly that I hardly remember it.

I've never been a bridesmaid.
In Brazil there are only junior bridesmaids.
But in some weddings there are many maids of honor.
For each maid of honor there is one best man...

I'm supposed to be one next fall, but I think I might have to back out of my duties as I'm taking 6 courses and just applied for a position during school elections. And there's a lot more to go with the backing out, but I'll deal with that when I need to.

Not once... Where I'm from (rural south), a lot of girls I went to high school with married at 19 or 20, and even in college a lot of girls marry not long after graduating. Now I live in a city (Nashville), and the vibe is completely different. I'm in no hurry to get married...

I'm digressing here, what I mean to say is, my friends are the same as me, NONE of us are in a hurry to marry, so we are ALL single (well, some of us have bf's but not married yet). I'd kinda like to be a bridesmaid, but I'm sure after doing it once or twice I won't want to do it again!

4, and only one was a phycho bride.

I was the last of my group to settle down, so 6. And I had only one psycho bride, so that wasn't too bad. She was the original Bridezilla.

Technically, I was a Maid of Honor 3x - (never a bridesmaid or a bride)- and fortunately, the brides were all sweet and let me pick out my own dresses!!!

And for my sister's wedding she bought the bridesmaids really cute platinum silk crepe and satin cocktail dresses from Filene's Basemen and they all told her that they loved the dresses and wore them again for other occasions!

I've never been a bridesmaid most people I know had a quick small wedding or had too many family members to add friends into the bridal party. I wouldn't mind once or twice though.

but this doesn't bum me out. I'm wayyy too into myself to be married to anyone right now;

(meaning, I don't want to share my closet, bathroom, load of laundry, etc.. let alone my entire "til death do us part" life with you).

i love being in weddings, and i even planned a few of them. i think it's wonderful when ppl are in love.

for me to be in love? not so much . . .too much on the heart and beauty

i have been a bridesmaid once and am slated to be my sister's MOH in 2009. the first bride was a total 'zilla, so i hope i never have to deal with that again, but otherwise i didn't mind being a bridesmaid!

Haha, Asia84, I'm the same way. Minus the part about being a bridesmaid more than 10 times. I've never been. Only one of my friends has gotten married so far. I was invited to the wedding, but thankfully not asked to be a bridesmaid (she has 4 sisters!). It seems like an awful lot of work to be a bridesmaid. I'd only do it if it's my best friend.

Never been a bridesmaid, and hopefully never will. I hate weddings. I find the concept so ridiculous. Well, I'm getting married in May, but we're not gonna have a wedding. Only a marriage. Does that make sense? Anyway, we don't want anyone involved. Just the two of us.

when i get married, i'm gonna spend SSSSOOOO much of my dad's money to throw an extravaganza (he and i already discussed and he claims he will be dead by the time i want to marry someone. . .which isn't that d*mn funny to me . . .).

but seriously, i have a huge family,so i'm bound to have a huge wedding just based on my family alone.

but who knows, depending on my mood, i might grab a couple of friends and take a trip to elope with my future hubby.

I have 2 bridesmaid gigs and at least 2 other weddings planned for 2008. I get tired just thinking about it, but they are all for people that I love. I'm sure the suffering of wearing an ugly dress will be outweighed by the fact that my friends are finding love.

Never . I was about 6 yrs old when my uncle got married and I remember being extrememly pissed that I wasn't asked to be a flower girl.
